The place is rather small & very simple but nice. The tables are also small but I guess that is to be expected from a Japanese place. The staff are nice & attentive. I am no sushi expert but the sushi looked good. The appetizer with eggplants was delicious. 😊
I finally found real sashimi here. Tasty salmon, delicious rice & sukiyaki.
We got sushi for take out & it was fresh, crisp & super flavourful. This place was a surprising find & we will definitely be back!
A friendly & casual restaurant serves authentic Japanese dishes. It's not a fancy & chic place like the ones in Old Montreal or in Plateau, & I hope it stays like that way! The menu lists classic Japanese dishes with fairly reasonable price. Their sushi is so good - it's not just the freshness of the ingredients but also the way they prepare the rice. There are so many sushi restaurants in Montreal yet most of them (even the fancy & expensive ones) seem to have hard time making the sushi rice properly, which is a huge disappointment for a native Japanese like me. Furusato never fails & always makes me happy when I have the first bite of their sushi. Other dishes are also great but haven't tried all of them because we always go for their sushi :) The chef & the servers are so humble which also gives you a sense of an authentic Japanese restaurant in Japan. Furusato-san, please stay as you are!
The food there is amazing & always fresh. The service was incredible as well & the menu is reasonably priced. Share all your doubts & questions to the waitresses. Very nice people & always eager to help. They enhanced the overall experience.
Clearly this place is one of my all time favorite restaurants in Montreal. I'm going mainly for the sashimi. Their scallops are amazing. I pre order the grilled yellowfin collar bone because I don't see it on the menu anymore. But it's the best! Give me that, the agedashi tofu, eggplant & a bowl of rice & I'm in heaven !
One of my biggest sadness post pandemic was the closing of the original Furusato ... I did not expect to see it again !! Price went up since Covid, but it's the same for all restaurant. Furusato is exactly like before, calm restaurant, nice service, amazing food (I had sushi & Gyoza) !! ご馳走さまでした。
You can eat real Japanese food !! I really enjoy everything. Sashimi, Sushi was amazing.
Finally, real authentic Japanese dishes available in Montreal! Each meal is prepared by the owner; a Japanese trained Chef. His Japanese wife, also owner, ensures everything is done to perfection! Having been to Japan many times, this is the real taste of Japanese food!
This was our second time here & we absolutely love it! Perfect spot in the neighborhood for great Japanese cuisine. We love the Shabu Shabu
Went into it not expecting much but the staff is really friendly & helpful. I think they came to pour water for us 3-4 times throughout our dinner.
We got katsudon & unadon + karaage as appetizers
Servings are fine, you won’t get extremely full, which isn’t a bad thing. Prices are fair for this economy.
Atmosphere was nice as well. Giving 5 star ⭐?
As usual, go try it yourself to get your own experience/opinion! 🤝
Service 10/10, bonnes portions, nourriture délicieuse & très chaude. Atmosphère calme.
