Quelle merveilleuse expérience !!
Restaurant familial servant nourriture authentique japonaise de qualité👌
TOUT était délicieux! Service impeccable! Je recommande vivement! Déjà hâte d'y retourner!
A true taste of Japan in Montreal. The service is amazing & the food delicious!
Beautiful service they were so kind. & when they brought the fish'fondue' he explained what to stary with & what was in the dish. Extremely important make reservation even if your just 2.
My wife loves this place & finally convinced me to go out for dinner tonight for the first time. Not just the food is fresh & the place cozy, but the service is spectacular. It's been a long time I haven't felt so welcomed. The staff is super nice & friendly & our waitress was amazing-they made our night. Try the Shabu shabu!
So glad they reopened! Food is still amazing! Too bad the new menu doesn't have tendon anymore. Regardless, we ordered katsudon, Udon shrimp tempura, Udon nabeyaki & a mix of sushi, sashimi & our favorite maki heiwa & they were all still very delicious!!! Can't wait to go back again & again. The service is amazing! The staff are just the sweetest people!
Edit: Tendon is on the menu & it is delicious!
This has to be hands-down the best japanese restaurant I've been to. It has a nice, casual atmosphere. The service was amazing, very polite & sweet staff. Everything was clean & well maintained.
Now for the food: for starters, we got takoyaki dumplings with tofu in broth. Absolutely delicious & fresh. We got the Katsu (porc cutlet) rice bowl (nice portion) that came with miso soup. Finally, the karaage (fried chicken). Best fried chicken I've had.
We finished that off with a assortment of sushi, & let me tell you they dont skimp on portions. I've been looking for a place that serves big chunks of fresh fish & that's what we got (yellowtail, fatty tuna, tuna) with salmon roe, tuna maki, & uni (sea urchin). Just Absolutely amazing. We also got two beers each.
I'm very happy to have visited this amazing spot, & I wish all the best to the family & staff that run this place. They should be very proud.
Reccomend for anyone who wants to enjoy a delicious authentic Japanese meal.
We had a really great time here. It was quite a busy evening & they accommodated us even we hadn't made a reservation. We love the warm atmosphere & great authentic food. Really happy that we had authentic tempura
Resto japonais sympathique & agréable. Les plats sont très bons en général mais pourraient être plus assaisonnés. Les prix sont adorables.
My favorite japanese restaurant in Montreal hands down. Staff are friendly & the fish is always fresh. 100% worth the price for its quality
The best & most authentic Japanese food in Montreal by far.
I typically order multiple appetizers when I come here, as there is a wonderful variety. I recommend:
- agedashi tofu (the standout menu item, better than any I was able to find in Japan)
- spicy eggplant
- korokke
- grilled fish (especially if the yellowtail cheek is available)
The katsudon is also very good, in large part due to the broth. The broth used here is consistently amazing.
I've been coming to Furusato for over a decade & was devastated when they closed during covid. It's a blessing they've returned & I hope they'll be open forever.
One of the best sushi in Montreal (but definitely give all of their menu a try). They keep it simple, always consistent with the quality of the food & service.
La cuisine authentique japonaise, elle me rappelle du Japon, mon Furusato 🗾
Sushi here is on par with anything I had in Japan. The vinegar-cured mackerel is unbelievably good. Great service too, kind & thoughtful staff.
I often went to Furusato when I lived in Montreal for three years, until this summer.
They have amazing sushi with fish imported from Japan, plus hotpots & Japanese home style dishes. The karaage especially reminded me of my mom's cooking!
As a Japanese, Furusato is my best Japanese restaurant in Montreal.
Hope I can visit & eat there again someday.
I was lucky to have discovered the old location when I did my undergrad at McGill over a decade ago. I was lucky again that I could have my birthday dinner there this past summer, & the food was exactly as good as I remembered, if not more so. I will go out of my way to eat here every time I visit.
