C ma cantine a Montreal🤗, tout est extra, combos sucre sale, poutine cafe inclus a volonte...mention particuliere a Marie quelle gentillesse, quelle energie, represente bien la magie des quebecois.Que ca fait du bien de reprendre des forces ici le midi, apres 7 jours passes a arpenter tous les quartiers de cette ville formidable 🇨🇦🇫🇷
I went there not too long ago to have a nice brunch & I got welcomed warmly by the host identified as Haley & a waitress who served me, Laurence. The food was great overall, service from the staff were great, but my main only concern & issue is the manager, Marie. From the distance, we could hear her yelling at her team with frustration & it disturb my peace & my girlfriend's. For instance, one of the runner accidentally dropped a glass or a mug & we could hear her yelling & yelling for over 5 minutes, FOR A SINGLE BROKEN MUG!! I tried to communicate with her regarding this matter but she completely ignored me & gave us a cold shoulder. I don't know how she can be the manager with those poor skills... Overall, it was great, but the manager is the main concern in this review. I'm not happy with how my experience turned into a bad one.
I am a DoorDash driver who picked up orders from Ben & Florentine Downtown on July 10. While waiting in the designated area near the corner for my orders, the manager (who identified herself as Marie) aggressively told me I was in the way & demanded I move to the stairs. I explained the stairs felt unsafe, but she continued raising her voice & insisted.
I tried to de-escalate by saying I didn't want to argue & waited quietly. Instead, she approached a nearby table of customers & began discussing me negatively, including comments about my helmet, which led to them joining in & making fun of me. This was highly unprofessional & made me feel harassed & unsafe as a small female delivery worker. I was visibly shaking from the stress.
After getting my insulated bag & returning, I asked for her name. She apologized repeatedly once I was standing there upset. I responded that restaurant work is stressful but I just wanted to do my job peacefully.
I also witnessed her speaking very rudely to one of her own employees earlier. As a delivery driver relying on these pickups, this experience was disappointing & made me concerned about returning. Management should ensure professional treatment of all staff & third-party workers.
Bonjour, je suis une personne qui est pas du coin & j'étais en vacances pour ma fête & les festivals mais mon déjeuner au ben & florentine était incroyable pour la nourriture mais surtout pour ma serveuse Laurence. C'est sur que c'est une place à aller au centre-ville 🩷
I'm usually pretty tough to please but my meal had really great flavors & textures. The staff are hustling & working together to provide a good experience. I only decided to write this becuase I don't agree with the current 4.1 rating. My waitress Lawrence regardless of how busy she was, had a smile on her face the whole time. Haley was also moving quickly to assure I had a great experience & my coffee didn't get below half a cup.
A friend recommended this as her fave breakfast place, & now I know why. I headed to Ben & Florentine for a big breakfast since I had a walking tour after & went for their egg benedict plus a side of bacon. I've had eggs benedict before & I would say that these were the best ones I ever had. Plus free coffee refills & fruit on the side made it such a great meal! So what made me go back a 2nd time in my trip when my flight was cancelled was the service. Huge shoutout to Marie! She was very friendly, remembered me & my order & always took the time to check on me even though she had other waiting tables. We even talked about the airline that even Canadians avoided flying with. Great food & amazing friendly service! I'm a huge fan & would recommend this plac e to anyone!
After our first brunch here was so good, we ended coming back 3 or 4 more time while on holiday in Montreal. Food was always delicious, generous portions, excellent service & a lovely, bright setting. Highly recommended if your in Montreal.
This is one of the best dining experiences I've had. The food is amazingly fresh & large portions that you are not going away hungry. & the staff, superb - so friendly, so agile & so efficient. I would recommend to anyone.
