Came here on Christmas night, which is strangely the most Christmas thing to do. Didn't have a reservation, & knew we would have to wait, but the staff was so friendly & accommodating. They ended up putting us as a large table with others who also didn't have reservations & we all could order separately & dine together. It was wonderful.
Their flair of Chinese food is Cantonese, which is different than Sichuan style or the American Chinese food that many are used to, so it was definitely a surprise (but not bad).
Just had some delivery - it is probably the worst Chinese food I ever had. Dry, bland, & one of the dishes was nothing like the photo, so much that I wondered if they sent the right dish.
Literally the worst example of Chinese food in North America I suspect. Peanut butter sauced overcooked dumplings. General tso came 2 seconds after appetizer - completely tasteless - Shanghai noodles came - took a bite- again tasteless. Decided to leave at this point without waiting for the rest of the meal. Service was fing rude. Space was hugely overcrowded. Maybe people in Montreal don't know better? Doubt it. I can't recommend against this place any more strongly. We found a Mexican place to cleanse our palates - it was in Chinatown- didn't dare do another Montréal chinoisierie.
Delicious chop suey won ton soup. Great ambience, very kind staff. Even the oolong tea they gave me before ordering was delicious. I will be returning!
Unprofessional Staff, They added 20% tip on my bill without asking me & my fault that i only realized after i paid.
Tips is not something that is a MUST regardless, it's based on the quality of service.
Authentic Cantonese n Beijing cuisines, great foods - highly recommended especially the noodle
Chinese restaurant with a good service & traditional food.
Bonne chance !
I have been coming to Beijing for over 20 years. Loved it - but tonight was a disaster. Beef & broccoli had virtually no beef, Japanese tofu & pork had NO pork. Nothing was up to their usual standards. I asked if there was a new chef. Nope. Time to look for somewhere new to try.
We had take out, the food tasted old, the breaded shrimp was soggy, food was tasteless. I wouldn't come back here was very disappointed in the food. Front desk was very nice tho.
We used to live in Montreal & had not been to the Beijing Restaurant in over 10 years! We would usually come with a large group including my wife's 90-year-old grandmother. It was her favorite restaurant for going out to dinner. We have had many delicious dim sum & entrees over the years, & the food this night was just as good as we remembered it!!
Dishes were not authentic & not fresh- the stir fried mushrooms had some weird sourness that was not from cooking sauces. However, staff is friendly & place is clean
Tried the lobster, oyster, & wonton noodles. Everything was lovely. Service was excellent.
