A super nice place, the food is delicious, the atmosphere is enjoyable, it is old, the waitresses & all the staff are very friendly, super clean. It makes you want to come back... Oh & they sell souvenirs
I have no idea what's happened to Beautys over the past year but whatever has changed, it was not for the good. At kne time, this was an iconic Montreal restaurant with some of the best breakfast items & hashbrowns in the entire city. Now the food is bland & without flair, there is no more love being put into the food at Beautys. Recent reviews over the past year, all seem to say the same thing, at best it is hit & miss. This mornings order was a delivery, it consisted of tiny pieces of burnt black hasbrowns & crushed toast & this is not the first time in recent months. We ate in the restaurant 34 days ago, in the middle of the week, not busy, so no excuse except.. no more love in the food at Beautys. Dry & burnt omelet with burnt hasbrowns & dry over toasted bread. My decades of attending or ordering from Beautys officially ends today, & it breaks my heart to see this happen.
Beauty's never fails to disappoint. I had the Beauty's breakfast with two pancakes, potatoes, sausages & bacon, two eggs & a bagel. It was a huge plate & as good as I remember from coming 15 years ago.
It is kinda not worth the price. We went in just to try because there was no line up that day. Maybe people just go because of the line without knowing the food? My bagel with smoked salmon was cold & hard. My wife had a waffle with sausages. We did not even order a coffee. With tip, it was about $50.
This rating is strictly about the french toast. The bagel is good, but you will leave with onion breath. I dont have french toast often, but the challah french toast is easily the best I've had. I should say I was expecting a little extra on the presentation because all the french toasts I've had come with toppings & whatnot. This one is presented on a warmed plate, naked, & bare with a small side of syrup. Fruit & bacon is optional & really not necessary at all. A superior display of simplicity at its finest. The challah.is.so.good. the maple syrup is the cherry on top. Clean restaurant & friendly service. No wait on a Thursday afternoon in May.

They told me, "Give love, get it back tenfold." Yeah, & it starts with Montreal's famous bagels with scrambled eggs, avo, & tomatoes. Don't knock the "Mish Mash" until you try it; it's a bizarre mash-up of salami & hot dogs that just works. This place isn't just old-school, it's GOLD-school. Drop by for a bite, a laugh, celebrity sightings, & maybe a life lesson or two.
Very special breakfast。 located in Montreal Jewish quarter, apparently, this is a quite famous & popular cafe. A couple started it in 1942, a lot of celebrities dines here with her(his) photo taken & displayed on the wall. The most famous breakfast here is bagel with smoked salmon.
Lovely atmosphere & service. The food was very good, I personally had the clubhouse classique on challah bread , & it was excellent! The milkshake was very good too. ----- Très belle atmosphère & service, La nourriture étais vraiment bon, moi même j'ai manger le clubhouse classique sur le pain challah, & c'étais excellent! Le milkshake étais vraiment bon auci!
