Waiter was very tip-hungry. & rude about it. A 15% tip is perfectly acceptable just to bring an 18$ bagel. Maybe the owners should pay them a liveable wage if that makes them upset & mean to clients!
Food & atmosphere were alright, but you can definitely make the bagel at home easily.
I was unfortunately underwhelmed by my visit. The food quality itself was acceptable, but the portions did not justify the price. My salmon bagel sandwich had very little salmon - it seemed bulked up with tomatoes to create the appearance of a fuller filling. Similarly, the egg sandwich contained what felt like half an egg, overloaded with cheese & bacon, which made it heavy but not satisfying.
What impacted the experience most was the service. As soon as we finished eating, we were asked to pay & leave because it's a fast-service breakfast spot. We politely asked if we could stay a little longer, but the response was unfriendly & we were told we needed to leave soon - despite there being open tables & no lineup.
Overall, it felt rushed & disappointing. With better portion balance & a more welcoming approach to guests, the experience could be much improved. My friends & I will not be returning to this place.

Everything you want from a legendary neighborhood dinnette. The service is always with a smile whether it's the owner serving you a cup of coffee or the waitress suggesting their favourites. Perfect to dine in at but wait times can be expected on weekends (understandably), the breakfast bagel is one of the best in the city.
Hands down one of the best breakfast spots in Montreal for classic brunch done right. Their pancakes are incredibly fluffy, & the bagels are absolutely amazing-perfect every single time. This place is truly an institution, & you can feel it in the atmosphere, the consistency, & the quality of the food. I always love coming here for brunch, & it never disappoints. A must-visit for breakfast lovers! 🥞🥯
I ordered a sandwich called the BML (Beauty's something… if I remember correctly) from the brunch menu. It was a very basic sandwich: one slice of Kraft cheese, an egg, bacon, tomato, & mayo, served on grilled bread. No side dish.
It cost the same price as my colleagues' full brunch plates, which included pancakes, bacon, egg, potatoes , a bagel & more.
I'm not saying the restaurant is bad overall - my friends seemed to really enjoy their meals. However, I strongly discourage ordering this particular dish. Paying $25 (tax, tip in) for what is essentially a $10 sandwich felt like a rip-off, & I was extremely disappointed.
The dish itself could easily be improved, but in its current form, it completely took away my desire to return. I didn't recommend the restaurant to my friends because of this experience.
The restaurant should seriously reconsider the portion size & value of this item. It doesn't make sense to charge the same price for a very plain sandwich as for a full, well-garnished brunch plate.
Très déçu de mon expérience. Je crois qu'ils surfeent sur leur réputation. J'ai commandé les gaufres avec choix de saucisses. L'assiette est arrivée avec une gaufre sur laquelle on avait déposé trois saucisse à déjeuner. J'ai du payer 3$ pour quelques onces de sirop d'érable. J'aurais commandé plus de sirop d'érable mais a 3$ on y pense à deux fois. Ma petite fille a commandé le bagel & saumon fumé. Présentation minimale. Latte servi froid a 7$ chacun? Les choix de pourboire commencent à 18%.
C'était un lundi matin. Après avoir payer la facture le n'avait pas encore terminé mon café qu'on nous demandent de quitter car il y avait un couple qu'on attendait pour une place. Nous avons passé ma petite fille & moi moins d'une heure à notre table. Je me suis senti bousculée. Je n'ose imaginer ce que ça doit être les week-ends. Assiette minimale & deux latte. 60$.
Excellent breakfast! Great omelettes, bagels, & service. Was busy but line went fairly fast. Wanted to go back again but ran out of time during our vacation.

What a wonderful breakfast! Everything was fresh & delicious. We enjoyed sitting at the counter & my kids loved watching the milkshake station. All of our food was perfect! Bagels, omelets, French toast & waffles. Highly recommend breakfast here while visiting Montreal!
Just got back with my husband from Montreal & all I can think about is our experience at Beauty's TWICE! First, let me mention we were able to meet & talk with Elana, the granddaughter of the original owners & then we met her dad, Larry. To say we were charmed would be an understatement. They couldn't have been more gracious, down to earth & charming. We had so much in common, it was fun getting to know them! Oh…the food?? First rate & I'm from the NYC area. Both of us had the lox, eggs & onions aka LEO. I can tell you I've had them at The Rascal House, Nate & Al's & Katz's deli & trust me when I say there is no comparison. The eggs were perfect, the onions perfectly caramelized & the lox plentiful. In addition you get a St Viateur bagel & IYKYK…the bacon & home fries were swoon worthy. I can't recommend Beauty's enough. I'm dreaming of my next visit! Thanks again Elana for the wonderful experience!!

Il y a toujours un petit peu d'attente..L'attente vaut la peine si vous avez envie d'un bon petit déjeuner classique accompagné d'un bon bagel de Montréal! Super service
Amazing service. I love the owners! They are so friendly & very sweet. They really create a wonderful classic diner experience. The food is incredible, I usually get the beauty's special bagel. & if I'm real hungry the lox omelette which is delectable. This is without a doubt an essential Montréal diner.
Je suis très partagée concernant ce dinner de Montréal. Si le burger était incroyable & les pancakes au bacon & sirop d'érable super bons, on ne pouvait pas en dire autant du bagel au saumon qui était franchement moyen. Pour l'ambiance...hummm... bah non, c'est un peu l'usine & le service ni souriant ni spécialement gentil (plutôt rare au Canada). Nous avons attendu & attendu avant qu'on vienne prendre la commande & je ne parle pas du temps qu'il a fallu avant d'être servis... on n'est pas arrivés à l'heure de pointe car il était déjà 14h & pourtant on n'a pas été bien servis. On a trouvé l'endroit un peu sale... un sol affreusement collant & sale & des tables qui collent aux bras.... non franchement, l'établissement m'avait été chaudement recommandé par quelqu'un de confiance mais perso, ma tribu & moi n'avons pas été séduits. Pour les bagels c'est certain, il y a beaucoup mieux & on a l'adresse.
Beauty's was a must-see for me, as a first-timer in Montreal. & I must say, as an American who is no stranger to breakfast sandwiches, this restaurant has some of THE BEST bagels & bacon I've ever tasted in my life! Their food is delicious & their service is socialable & attentive. They're obviously the kind of place where everyone does everything & I really respect that. When I come back to Montreal, I will make sure to visit them again- multiple times!

Classique petit déjeuner, c'est frais, c'est bien préparé, bagel délicieux. Service fantastique. Belle rénovation, la climatisation est cependant problématique... il fait très froid!
This place doesn't need more reviews. It's an institution for a reason. The staff are all so nice. The bagels are 10/10. The mish mash is iconic for a reason. You can't go wrong
Stopped for brunch on Sunday morning. There was a line, but it moved quickly. The menu is huge & has a great variety. We had the omelet with feta it served with great potatoes in side & also we had the salmon bagel. The service was fast, the food was tasty , & I was impressed by how clean the place was, even though it was full
This is a great diner on Mont-Royal with many choices from omelettes to waffles to sandwiches to bagels. They have been doing it right since 1942, so you know they are doing something right.
This is such a classic diner feel & the food is really high quality. Even when it's busy. You shouldn't have to wait very long & the weight is definitely worth it. They have really good smoothies & just fantastic regular situational breakfast items. They are also very well known for their bagels which are delicious.
