Fun, lively diner atmosphere - perfect place to stop for a delicious breakfast before walking to Mont Royal Lookout! Affogato was amazing & perfect to share!

Man, do I ever love this place! Especially when Larry, son of the 1942 couple who founded this place. I love to say hello, he is a classic charming proprietor! My favorite diner in all of Montreal. Classic impeccable interior, black & white tiles, long lunch counter, cozy window booths. Huge portions of delicious breakfast - brunch food. Lively young customers. Today we were in luck, no lineup - when there is they do an awesome job of moving folks quickly in & eating. You won't need dinner! Highest recommendation! 👑🐒⚜? d

Beautys is a classic (Since 1942) bustling diner with amazing food, friendly atmosphere, & attentive service (four refills of their perfect coffee & I have enough energy to take on the day).

But Beautys is not your run-of-the-mill, run-down diner; conversely, it's run like a well-oiled breakfast machine brimming with a bright personality, menu diversity (breakfast + lunch options!), & delicious flavors! The prices are not cheap, but they are fair & worth it, as the quality is top-notch.

The decor is clean, modern, & pristine.

I got the big breakfast platter with potatoes, 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, bagel, & both bacon & sausage. I added some 100 percent maple & it was worth it. The pancakes are buttery & crispy, thick too; just perfect!

I even broke a hot sauce bottle on accident (sorry!) & it was not an issue at all as they said'it happens', & swiftly cleaned it up.

Highly recommend the vodka orange juice, as they fresh squeeze the OJ daily. Super yummy!

They have a modern decor but feels like a classic diner (is literally is), have good counter space for solo diners or if it's too busy you can eat there, a variety of tables bplus big ones for 3-6 people (perfect for b-day celebration or a small party).

Beautys is usually very busy (packed) so be prepared to wait 10-15 minutes or sometimes longer. Luckily my wife & I came when there was a free table so we didn't have to wait. Service is fast-paced, friendly, & it's a generally good vibe!

Beautys: fresh, modern, quaint, hip; classic diner experience with the best service around. 5 stars.

My wife & I will definitely be back soon.

If you love diners, you will absolutely love Beauty's Restaurant! We started our visit to Montreal with breakfast here at this amazing spot! First of all, the owner & staff were so lovely & made our experience so special. Secondly, the BEST cup of COFFEE I have ever had! Seriously! The best & I am a total coffee snob! The place is so clean, the booth benches were so soft, everything about this place made me want to come back & try out other dishes. The food was absolutely delicious & large portions

Proceed with caution!
While visiting Montreal, I took two local friends to Beauty's Restaurant for brunch on Saturday, May 30, expecting a classic diner experience at this long-standing establishment that I have frequented for the last 10 years. Unfortunately, it turned into a complete disaster. The server was pleasant enough in the beginning when I ordered a bottle of Prosecco. She then asked my friends what they would like to drink. One ordered a cappuccino with oat milk, to which she sarcastically responded,'We're a diner; we don't do that here.' He relented & ordered a cappuccino with regular milk instead. My second friend ordered a black coffee. You could tell she was not happy with us as she walked away. Several minutes later, a busser returned to the table carrying a bucket containing two unopened bottles of Prosecco. I told him,'Sorry, sir. Thank you, but I only ordered one.' The confused busser walked away. Our server returned shortly thereafter & asked,'What's the problem?' I politely explained that I had only ordered one bottle, not two. She immediately became defensive, insisting that one of my friends had also ordered a bottle of Prosecco. Once again, I politely corrected her, explaining that one friend had ordered a coffee & the other a cappuccino with regular milk. She responded by pulling out her notepad & franticly flipped through her chicken-scratch writing, vigorously searching for evidence that would prove us wrong & set the record straight. She was unable to produce it. Her face turned red. Without saying a word, she abruptly grabbed one of the unopened bottles & walked away. At that precise moment, I knew we were in for the Brunch From Hell. Seven minutes passed before she returned with the coffee. The mood was tense & the atmosphere heavy. Another 25 minutes passed before the food finally arrived: a mixed green salad, a breakfast sandwich, & a smoked salmon bagel. My salmon bagel looked edible. My friend's breakfast sandwich, however, I wouldn't have fed to my dog food. These dishes were all priced between $16 & $22 before tax. Despite this, we put our heads down & ate the mediocre food. While consuming my $18 smoked salmon bagel-burnt around the edges, served on stale bread, & lacking capers or even a solitary lemon wedge-I thought to myself: if our server does the bare minimum & asks how the food is, I'll give her a 10% tip. She strategically returned about 15 minutes later, after we had finished eating. At that moment, my decision was made. I would not be tipping her. I told my friends to ask for separate bills while I stepped away to use the restroom. When I returned to the table, I was bewildered to find the server berating my friend over the amount he intended to tip. She demanded to know why he was only leaving 10%. I responded,'You really don't know why his tip is so low?' She became increasingly agitated & asked whether it was the food or the service.'Both,' I replied. Her face now bright red, she snapped,'You ate all the food, so it couldn't have been the food!' I responded,'& this is how you speak to customers? You bully them into tipping more?' She fires back,'Your entitlement is outrageous. I only make $12 an hour.' I repeated myself.'& this is how you speak to people? How's this working out for you? Not very well, I'm assuming.' At this point, steam may as well have been coming out of her ears. She then argued,'Your friend ordered a mimosa!' To which I replied,'Mimosa is not a word that was spoken at this table.' Outraged, she picked up the payment terminal & threw it down on the table in front of me. Looking at the screen, I took my time, carefully ensuring I did not tip a penny over my bill of $43.69. Growing impatient, she muttered,'Here, let me help you.' Grabbing the machine aggressively, she forcefully selected the zero-tip option for me. I replied,'Thank you. That's the most helpful you've been the entire time.' Taking the machine, she stormed away. The nightmare was finally over. We were free.

Very.... bland experience. The place looks alright. Nothing fascinating. The food tho is very very much normal. Small plates of quite bland, classic breakfast. At a 20-30$ price tag for a crêpe with a small half cup portion of fruits. & a scoop of yogourt. The place must have it's fair share of regulars who opt for nostalgia over value or taste to stay afloat in an economy where less gets you more at those breakfast chains out there.
Coffee isn't included; for another 3.5$ you get about 150ml of drip brewed coffee. An even smaller cup than what you'd get from a Barista coffee shop. Their premium home branded'real' maple syrup comes in a sealed 1 oz'shot' size bottle, like those tasters you'll find at the counter of any SAQ. For another surcharge of 3$, it's very pale in color & tasteless, almost diluted. Commenting as someone used to family ran profitable maple shacks selling to QMSP.

Automatic inclusion of gratuities (18%) for groups above 5 people.

Would not recommend, it's not expensive per se. But the value just isn't there.

37$ bill: 2 plain pancakes, half a cup of fruits, scoop of yogourt. Coffee. Maple syrup. Taxes & tips.

Food was very mid. Only go here if you don't know how to cook & can't make a better breakfast than simple eggs, potatoes, a protein & toast/bagel.
Everything on my dish was missing flavour. The eggs had no browning on the bottom, no salt or other spices on my potatoes. It's very rare for me to add hot sauce to things so I can enjoy my food more.
I would have been happier if it was more affordable to justify the mediocrity of the plate but my dish was close to $20 & it went over that with tax & tip.
I only tried it cause it's a Montreal institution so I excepted the food to be better than what I got.

I was really surprised with my experience here at beauty's. I was really excited to visit since it's a household name in Montreal however the quality of their food & service was not reflective of their reputation. I'm surprised a basically meal was super expensive with nothing special on it. Second my friend got the gravlax sandwich with one piece of salmon & 3 tomato pieces to make the sandwich appear thicker. When I asked our waitress for my eggs over easy & well done yolks she gave me a face & came back with runny yolks. I will say tho the restaurant it self was well decorated with a nostalgic vibe. But I would look at other breakfast restaurants to try.

I was unfortunately underwhelmed by my visit. The food quality itself was acceptable, but the portions did not justify the price. My salmon bagel sandwich had very little salmon - it seemed bulked up with tomatoes to create the appearance of a fuller filling. Similarly, the egg sandwich contained what felt like half an egg, overloaded with cheese & bacon, which made it heavy but not satisfying.

What impacted the experience most was the service. As soon as we finished eating, we were asked to pay & leave because it's a fast-service breakfast spot. We politely asked if we could stay a little longer, but the response was unfriendly & we were told we needed to leave soon - despite there being open tables & no lineup.

Overall, it felt rushed & disappointing. With better portion balance & a more welcoming approach to guests, the experience could be much improved. My friends & I will not be returning to this place.
