Great service, & friendly staff. Very accommodating for last minute reservation of a large group around the holidays.
Highly recommend dinning at the location if you're in the area, & are looking for some tasty ribs!
Great dinner. The filet mignon & prime rib were cooked to perfection. The service from J.F. was on point.
It's a little bit of a catch-22 for me on this particular night anyways. I had ordered a prime rib & also cook to perfection, the prime rib was half fat.
The Raiders defense of the food was long-winded with a spice of smartass personality.
Although they tried to accommodate by offering a free dessert even though it was my dinner I was the woman & they only offered one dessert I of course offered it to the man who was buying me dinner.
It was ridiculously packed next time I know to book reservations & it was a long 3 & 1/2 hour dinner date was at least an hour & 45 minute wait prior.
Not happy yet it was an explosion of flavor so I wasn't really perturbed either. Am I in a hurry to go back? Not really there's other Baton Rouge's.
Generous 4 star review considering the service was great.
Food was bland. You can now find better ribs elsewhere, the burger was so dry, poutine sauce so salty it's inedible.
No point for asking your fries well done, the kitchen always sends'just done' fries.
Service is great, cozy ambiance (I think the last Bâton Rouge that's not renovated & has that cozy feel).
Super repas.
Went to this one & like always had the full rack of baby back ribs.
My mom had a flank steak asian salad. Can't go wrong ! My waiter has been there a long time & very polite & professional. Thanks to all the staff
Usually, we enjoy Baton Rouge's food in Montreal. However, during our recent visit as a small group, we were thoroughly disappointed. Each of us ordered the BBQ ribs, which are Baton Rouge's signature dish, & every single one of us regretted it. The ribs tasted old, dry, & had a strange, almost expired flavor. It is disheartening to see such a lack of quality from a dish that should be their pride & joy. This particular location is falling short of the standards we have come to expect.
The table decided to go for their signature dish, chicken & ribs. The group has been a fan of the Baton Rouge ribs for some time & have orders this a while back so we believed this to be a safe bet. Lets see… Ribs: sauce is still delicious though not plentiful & should include a small dipping sauce with the dish. The meat is not as tender & soft as the past melt of the bones quality used to be. The size & portion of the ribs have dramatically been reduced & was a let down. Chicken. Once it used to be a significant sized portion of chicken, it's now a small thin portion of chicken that would likely cost about $1.50 at a typical grocery store. It's grilled & then sauced like the ribs. Its texture was not good as it was stringy & overdone. Coleslaw: the recipe has changed & is a big let down. The old version was creamy & filled with more vegetables & herbs. This was dry, small portion, & lacked the lovely seasoning they once delivered. Baked potato: the potato was supposed to come with the fresh sour cream, crisp fresh bacon bits, chives & topped with cheddar cheese. What we received was a room temperature dried out potato with barely any sour cream that had the texture of cream cheese. The cheddar cheese was gratuitous & hard - not cheesy at all. It would appear that the potato's are pre cooked & then stuffed & placed in a fridge & then microwave heated when ordered. This I can do at home & make better. If a restaurant can't provide fresh quality food (at these prices) don't sell me BS, it's an insult. Salad: for $4.00 extra (instead of a side) their salad was ordered. This was not their usual hearty salad with multiple vegetable. This was predominantly spinach leaves & a little romain & gratuitous little veg added. Now worth ordering again. Notes: all food came room temperature & served at the same time. There was no time to have salad & relax. As all food came at once & within about 5 to 7 minutes from placing the order one would expect it to be hot & fresh - not the case. We had to ask the (amazing) server to send back. We received our order reheated again with another thin layer of sauce but the baked potato still was as horrible as before. The potato was set aside & the server brought a serving of thin-cut fries with a side of ketchup & mayonnaise. The fries were obviously frozen, cooked well & not great but lacking any flavour. Overall I find that there are much better restaurant s to eat at considering the pricing of the average quality products being served. The only real thing going on here are their ribs as there are few restaurants specializing in ribs. After eating a numerous Baton Rouge locations I have concluded that their steak & roast beef are of average quality, too much fat content, & for the price you can get better quality elsewhere. Their burgers are actually very good & even better if eaten at the bar with the bar menu. Their chicken fingers are great, though too much breading & the amount of chicken is actually small. Bottom line; for any Baton Rouge location, stick to the (over priced) ribs & you should be happy. This is a popular establishment in the Quebec & Ontario markets & many people enjoy their offerings as each location can vary its offerings. Going here was not as exciting as it used to be & with so many competitors to eat at I feel BR to be average to below average food quality & freshness etc. you decide but please stay away from their awesomely described baked potatoes as it's a let down. Also remind your server to make sure food is hot & to serve the salads before the main meal; unless you like it with your meal.
We are disappointed that the restaurant no longer provide complementary bread for customers anymore. Dishes were a bit cold when they were brought to us. The risoto rib dish was too saucy for our taste. Washroom was a bit aged with broken door lock.
The salad was incredibly fresh & tasty-definitely the highlight of the meal! Unfortunately, the rib sandwich was pretty average, & the meat lacked flavor. Decent experience overall, but I'd come back just for the salad & hamburgers (tried then previously)
Tres bonne expérience! Le propriétaire Vince ainsi que la serveuse alexandrine on été tres accueillant! Les ribs étaient délicieuses
The appetizers were great, but the ribs were not as good we usually get. Not as much taste & seemed a little overdone
Le resto est très chic, beau vibe. Les serveurs étaient très gentil(e)s. Je n'ai pas trouvé les ribs particulièrement bonne, mais mes attentes étaient au même niveau que les divers rôtisseries. En général une expérience agréable
Love Baton Rouge but this resto was far from that Ribs were brought out cold, returned to warm up. Ribs were bland & tasteless, was really disappointed (44$ plate!) as usually Baton Rouge is good.. side note: Also bathroom was dirty with toilet paper all over the floor & garbage overflowing. Nevertheless, Won't return
We eat at Baton Rouge in St. Sauveur regularly to celebrate our birthdays (both in May), Mothers' Day & Fathers' Day yearly. The service most often excellent. On this past Sunday, May 28th, I had the 14 ounce Prime Rib, which has always been great, was somewhat gristle. I found that abnormal, a "one off" bad cut & did not complain. But considering the cost at close to $50, maybe I should have. We will probably try another restaurant recommended to us by friends & family for Fathers' Day this year.
This is the 2nd time this month that we eat here. My wife & I ate there last night.
I ordered the octopus & the prime rib, my wife ordered the baton Rouge burger. Her burger was completely dry & not pleasant, he fries order seemed to be pieces of fries, very disappointed.
My octopus was surround with a mush, don't what it was but not pleasant, the prime rib was not good at all, tough & overcooked, the menu said it was supposed to be medium rare, it was not.My fries were also bits & pieces.
The two servers were very friendly & helpful re dietary restrictions for my friend. The ribs & mashed potatoes were delicious. Rapid service & professional. Thank you Eric!
