It was a quiet evening, Wednesday 17th 2026. The restaurant was half empty. My son had just done his play in school & we wanted to go out for a small celebration as a family. This turned out to be a very disappointing evening.
My wife & I ordered a salad & the kids ordered on the kids a BBQ chicken breast on the kids menu. I specifically asked for the fries to be hot & crispy. We waited 45 minutes to receive our food on an evening where the restaurant was half empty !
First they came out with the kids dishes. The fries had been on the dish for so long that they literally collapsed & were lukewarm warm, soggy & totally disgusting. Not to mention that they bring a mountain full of fries with about a 2 oz piece of chicken for the kids.. Very unappetizing dish. I immediately told the server that the kids fries were awful & he took their dishes away to put new fries & took about 5 minutes so now the chicken is cold ! I guess it's hard to bring them some fries so they can start eating their chicken immediately.
I ordered the chicken filet salad. Mine arrived cold & soggy & humid. These were absolutely uneatable ! It's like everything had been done for about 10 minutes & were just left there & were forgotten. When you took it in your hand the coating just pealed off with your hand. Even the server saw that this was a horrible dish. He apologized & went to speak to the manager. He came back & said we can redo your dish & we can offer you a dessert & a coffee to compensate. This was absolutely insulting, making us wait 45 minutes for 4 simple dishes, letting them sit there while everything became cold & soggy & them offering dessert & a coffee to compensate for meals that were uneatable. Our evening out with the kids was ruined.
After wasting our time that evening & making the kids wait all this time for a horrible meal, we got up & left this restaurant.
THIS WAS A VERY BAD DINING EXPERIENCE !

You have all the information you need & requested in my review yet you want me to send it to your email. Cut the BS ! Easy to see why your once very busy restaurant has suddenly become so quiet ! Price went up & everything else came down !
On Saturday March 17th we had an underwhelming experience at the Carrefour Laval location from our arrival to our departure. We had a reservation for 8 people at 18:00. When the two of us arrived we were brought to the wrong area of the restaurant where under large group were seating & with no seats available. We had to search the restaurant to find out the others of our group. Then we had to wait so long to get someone to come & serve us. We ordered our drinks & appetizers & waited a long time for them. In fact, we had to direct the server helpers to our table with the drinks & appetizers as they were trying to guess who ordered what at our table versus other tables nearby. The drinks & appetizers were fine however. Then we waited much longer to get our main plates. The same thing happened whereby the server helpers had no ideas you ordered what at our table versus other tables nearby. The food quality was really not what we had experienced with Baton Rouge previously, not to mentioned the temperature which was lukewarm at best. I have always had a good experience at Baton Rouge, this location & many others, but that night it wasn't a good one. Baton Rouge, you can do much better than that.
What a disappointment. It's like the hosts have absolutely no clue how to seat guests. We spent an hour at the bar waiting for a booth but no joy. We drank, we ate appetizers, checked the status 4 times. Unforgivable. Sincerely, for the apathy, & the poor quality control, go anywhere where the place appreciates you & your patronage. But, if you like being treated like a heel, you're home. Enjoy!! 😀
Baton Rouge in Laval offers good food at a balanced price-not too high, not too low. The restaurant has a very nice design, creating a welcoming atmosphere. However, on weekends, it gets extremely busy, which affects the service quality. If you're looking for a relaxed dining experience, visiting during off-peak hours might be a better choice.
They also have a selection of alcoholic drinks, including cocktails, wines, & beers, to complement your meal.
Food is good, reasonable price for the quality but sometimes you don't get a good waiter but should not affect your decision o go for it. If it was not for the guest I was inviting I would have not even tipped him.
Baton Rouge used to be great. Not anymore. The price of the meal as double but the service quality is mediocre. The food is not bad but at this price, I expect better. Maybe it' s was a bad day.
We visited for a weekday lunch with a group of five & were seated quickly. The staff was very warm & attentive. However, the food didn't quite match the quality of the service. We began with their soup of the day, which was excessively salty, almost like drinking soy sauce directly; I ended up just eating a few of the tomatoes from the soup. On a brighter note, the platter was an improvement over the soup. The grilled shrimp was decent, & the lobster was quite tasty.
