It was fantastic! Service was excellent, drinks & food were incredible. We were able to take our time & weren't rushed. Just overall great experience & highly recommend
I have been to Barocco many times, which is why I chose to celebrate my birthday here. Unfortunately, the experience was really disappointing.
The service was slow from the start, our drinks took forever, & we were served a weak Casamigos after the bottle had run out. Our concern was initially denied, then confirmed when staff admitted they were out of Casamigos-yet we were still charged for it. Later, after moving an empty plate to the booth beside us to make room on the table, our waitress accused us of trying to steal it, which was both unnecessary & insulting.
The food was genuinely great, but the service took away from what should have been a special birthday celebration.
It's a shame, because this used to be one of my favorite restaurants in Montreal. Sadly, we'll be taking a break from coming back.
We came to Barroco for the first time & we were thrilled with this place.
Everything was perfect! Great service, delicious food & a super cosy place. We would strongly recommend it to anyone.
Absolutely loved Barroco! We were in Montreal for 24hours & chose this restaurant. The place is small & classic with rustic vibes. Ambience was romantic & intimate. The porcelain plates were perfect & traditional. The service was excellent! Our server kindly improved the old fashioned we ordered! Last but not least, the food exceeded my expectations - the filet mignon was cooked to a perfect medium rare & the braised beef was soft & delicious…impeccable!!
What an amazing experience! The lights off the streets attracted us in & the vibe, décore & wonderful service made us instantly know we were in the perfect spot.
We sat at the bar & Marc was our host. he makes the best drinks & was honestly one of the most genuine great people I've met in a long time. The food was delicious & every item we saw come from the kitchen made us want to order even more.
Thank you Marc & see you again soon!
Everything is simply exceptional. Jade's attentive, friendly, & consultative service was the highlight of of a truly superlative meal. Food, bar, service, setting all top notch.
We recently dined here, & overall, it was a memorable experience. The food was absolutely superb! every dish was flavorful, beautifully presented, & clearly made with quality ingredients. The atmosphere was also fantastic, with a warm & inviting ambiance that made the evening feel special.
However, the service could definitely be improved. We had to wait quite a long time for our food, which took away from the overall experience. While the quality of the dishes made up for it in some ways, better timing & attentiveness would make this place even better.
Still, Barroco is worth visiting for the amazing food & great atmosphere.
Extremely disappointed with our experience here, especially as it was the only letdown during our Montreal trip. Despite booking months in advance, the reality did not match the reviews. The restaurant was nearly empty, yet service was incredibly slow. Our waitress was dismissive & struggled with the language barrier, which made communicating simple requests difficult.
?The food was mid at best. The seafood platter was tiny for the price, the tartare was underseasoned (there are much better options right next door), & the bread was stale & burnt. Even the octopus was thinly sliced & lacked flavor. We asked for everything to be served at once, but the staff ignored this & split the service anyway. We capped the night with burnt madeleines. Save your money & go elsewhere.
