7 days a week we see our establishment become to Old Port passer by's a newfound treasure, as well as a second home The essence of Barroco doesn't solely reside on a single element, but rather in the harmony of various ingredients that create comfort and a "feel good" dining experience. With pride we hand picked every single detail in our restaurant : from the static motion (décor and set-up) to the impeccable delivery of satisfaction.
Barroco in Old Montreal is described in reviews as a charming, intimate spot where the atmosphere, warm service, and high quality food and drinks consistently impress guests. The menu features refined French-inspired dishes like braised beef and duck breast, strong cocktails, and memorable desserts, with many praising attentive service, a beautiful interior, and a cozy bar scene. While experiences are largely excellent, some reviews note small portions for the price, occasional overcooked meat, limited vegetarian options, and the setting can feel busy or pricey, yet the place is widely regarded as a memorable, reliable gem that many patrons plan to return to.
always have a great time & the atmosphere is cozy & warm, the food is amazing & never gets boring, the chef knows how to make it a memorable experience each time , truly one of the top restaurants in mtl
Exceptional experience: very historical building in Old Montreal, small lamp & flowers on each table, stone walls, great ambiance, very vibrant & welcoming from the minute you come in. Perfect for a tête-à-tête dinner, but without being too quiet or stuffy. Cocktails are original, food at our table of 4 was very tasty & well prepared (we loved the duck magret & the bavette), & wine list is high quality. Our server Justine knew her menu so well, took care of us very efficiently, & was very personable without being too intrusive. The host was super welcoming as well.
Excellent romantic meal in a charming restaurant. Waitress was very professional & friendly. The Winter salad with chicken liver pate & braised beef O.G. were killer dishes. Cocktails & the imposed two-hour dining limit were less attractive. I look forward to returning to Barroco.
We remembered this place fondly from our last visit to Montreal, & returned to find it was even better than we remembered. The craft cocktails are delightful & the food was incredible. The atmosphere & service are cozy & friendly. Don't miss the mushroom parfait or the O.G. Braised Beef. This is a very special & memorable place.

Barroco was spectacular. After the unfortunate mix-up with our reservation being cancelled on our anniversary, the team reached out & kindly accommodated us for dinner the following night. We were treated to a beautiful three course dinner with wine pairings for each course. Everything was delicious, generously portioned, & thoughtfully prepared. The space itself was beautiful, intimate, & cozy, & Alex & Sarah took wonderful care of us throughout the evening. We are so grateful we gave Barroco a second chance because it was absolutely worth it.
Absolument exceptionnel!

The special drinks were delicious. The crusty halibut was one of the best fish dishes I have ever eaten. My husband enjoy his steak. The Octopus & russian salad was tasty. We ordered brioche & butter & only got one tiny roll to share. Disappointing for $9 Canadian dollars
Date night supper,
I don't live in Montreal or Canada even but each time I visit, I come to Barroco. The cocktails are creative (Paper Crane & Echo Chamber last night) & the food was delicious. Above & beyond is the atmosphere & attentive service. Florian was beyond nice & made the celebration of our niece's graduation even more special.
