Situé au Centre ville de Montréal, le Bar George's inscrit dans la continuité du riche passé du Mount Stephen's avec sa cuisine contemporaine mais résolument tournée vers l'avenir.
Bar George est décrit comme un lieu spectaculaire alliant une architecture historique et un cadre intérieur chaleureux, propice autant aux occasions spéciales qu'aux repas autour d'un cocktail. Music great; decor amazing; waitress very friendly but took too long to take our order & bartender took too long to make our cocktails. Hostess poorly organized our seating area. Bit of a long story
Wellington fell flat. Meat & pastry was undercooked. & served on a pool of unnecessary variety of sauces. The dish costs almost $80… Extremely disappointing. At least the service was good.
Worth the experience but its on the expensive side. It was originally a private residence that was incredibly extravagant in its day, it still is.
I recommend that you look at the menu beforehand as it is limited. The items they do serve are all excellent. Its on the Michelin list. I had the beef Wellington they have been serving since they opened it was very rich, decadent. The beet salad was amazing.

I can't recommend this place enough! It's absolutely stunning, the food is great, & the service exceptional. Everything we had was great, but the Beef Wellington & cream of mushroom soup stole the show. Will definitely come back anytime we're in Montreal.
A must-visit for anyone who appreciates a well-crafted cocktail. The atmosphere inside is fantastic, & I'm already looking forward to my next visit. Though on the pricier side, it was worth every dolla
The one time I was in England I was mistaken for a pauper & a prince on the same tram ride & it made me realize how important outward appearances are. Very. This establishment harkens back to a time when woodwork was prized above all else & when your fireplaces should out number your tables. The food was good but common man this is Montreal you want 5 stars you really gotta wow me. Dinning room is classy but the bar is like a tube top in a runway model- easy on the eyes & insinuates excitement. Be sure to read all the plaques as one does in merry olde e gland.
The food at Bar George is quite expensive, & honestly the beef dishes were just average for this price point. What really ruined the experience for me was the service. We ordered ONE portion of bread, but the server decided on his own to bring us TWO without saying a single word - & then charged us for both. When I asked about it, he kept insisting that'one portion has three pieces so I had to bring you two.' This is absolutely unacceptable. It's not about the extra bread, it's about respect: I should be the one deciding what I order & pay for, not the server. The fact that he told us he'always does it this way' was shocking & incredibly unprofessional. It left me feeling frustrated, disrespected, & very unhappy with the overall experience.
