Very professional hostesses, warm welcome, attentive to cocktail detail (requested a Sazerac served to perfection) & got seated in the lounge for privacy. The waiter was quick to provide details. A masterclass performance.

Such a lovely experience at George! We sat at the bar & ended up having the nicest evening. The service was wonderful, we were really well taken care of, & the cocktails were excellent. I tried a few from the menu, but the dirty martini was especially memorable. Beautiful atmosphere, great drinks & genuinely lovely service. Definitely a place I'd come back to when in Montreal.

The ambience was lovely. The creamy mushroom & rigatoni pasta were excellent choices for vegetarians. The server was attentive, & I really enjoyed the overall experience. Thank you!

I planned a surprise dinner for my husband's 45th at Bar George. An establishment we frequent & had a group of 6 spending $1200+ for the evening. Everything, except this one thing, went well. & this one thing has led us to know we will never be going back or recommending BG.

I checked with them before hand to bring our own cake. This was a custom, two layer cake as you can see from the photos. When it came for the time to serve this 10 inch cake that would easily serve 12 people, we got six HALF pieces (see photo with candle). The bottom layer was missing on all the pieces. & we received less than one third of the cake to go home.

Where did the rest of the bespoke cake go?

Well we wrote to Chloe Fournier, the Assistant Manager, to convey our concerns. Not only did she deny everything but also gaslit me on the photo evidence saying the cake had only one layer & looked nothing like the piece photographed at home. (See photos of the cake at Bar George [photo 1] & then the slice on the floral plate at home [photo 3]). Anyone can tell that is not a one layer cake!

So, if you're planning a birthday, have your cake at your table at all times.

Did not expect such petty theft from such a fine establishment. I guess you can't let your guard down anywhere!

A pricy restaurant with British fare set in a very beautiful old home. Though the prices of some dishes are steep, consider coming here just to soak in the wood-paneled atmosphere of the old home turned historic club. The food was very good, the service was polite & attentive, the atmosphere was spectacular. A good place to get dressed up for & enjoy a fancy night.

The jabon & bread appetizer was tasty if a bit pricy for what you get. The beef Wellington was perfectly cooked & very flavorful. It's an expensive dish but, I think it's worth the it as it's quite hard to master! The cream of mushroom soup was deliciously savory.

Absolute favourite place for dinner when in town for the weekend in Montreal. Beef wellington is always delicious, & enjoying a pre or post dinner cocktail in the gorgeous bar is a must.
