We stayed at le mount Stephen on a weekday & were told bar George has breakfast in the morning. So we dropped by & we were glad we did. The restaurant itself was very nice inside. Just makes you look around & appreciate the art & architecture & such.

Anyway. We got the Canadian breakfast & English breakfast & fruits/berries with a side of viennoiserie. The service was great. The gentleman was attentive & nice. He was very understanding of the noise my little toddler was making throughout the dining experience. Anyway. Felt nice to be able to eat at a nice restaurant with an infant & a toddler without worrying about just being there with kids.

Overall, the food was great too. Bread was good as well as the viennoiserie. Fruit/berries were very fresh. Breakfast was solid. You kinda pay for the vibe & atmosphere here though that's worth noting. Would love to try their dinner menu next time.

Cream of mushroom soup & Beef Wellington were 10 out of 10. Sat at the bar for dinner & cocktails.

Old Fashion was average. (No luxardo cherry) but does have a pretty orange art.

We enjoyed our evening at Bar George in Montréal. Housed in a magnificent historic mansion, the setting exudes timeless elegance & sophistication from the moment you arrive.
The menu offers beautifully balanced dishes that are truly worth savoring-each one executed with care & flair. We particularly loved the Beef Wellington. Warm applause to the chef for such outstanding cuisine. The service was impeccable & wonderfully attentive throughout.
A truly refined experience. We look forward to returning soon.

The indoor restaurant is very good , but the new terrace has major problems

The indoor Restaurant decor & elegance are exquisite
The food is overall excellent. Mushroom cream soup was10/10, The beef Wellington7/10, The lobster risotto 10/10. Congratulations to chef Kevin & chef Donald
The service in the indoor restaurant was excellent. Jonathan & Julian were very friendly & efficient

The only problem that should be corrected is the loud contemporary music. It should be lowered down in volume & replaced by light classical music to go with the classical decor

Now we come to the new Terrace

We came on a Saturday evening, & more than half the tables were empty !!!…
which is extraordinary Fox, such a beautiful location but expected because of the many problems this terrace has:
1- If you try to book by phone, The Answering messagetells you that there is No reservation &'first come first served', which is not true at all! You can book by phone & you can book online!
2- another negative feature is the very loud & repetitive boring music ( I had to ask the manager of Mathieu to lower the volume)

3- Another problem is the confusion between the outdoor terrace & the indoor restaurant. THE TERRACE SHOULD HAVE A DIFFERENT NAME & A DIFFERENT BOOKING SYSTEM.
& booking should be available online without asking for a credit card deposit

4- The quality of the cuisine & menu in the Terrace is lower than that of The mainland n indoor restaurant

We had a really fantastic experience here today. The dining options were very good, & the surroundings felt completely calm & inviting. Everyone we talked to was incredibly nice & helpful. We are highly looking forward to making another trip back here very soon. It was a genuinely heartwarming & wonderful outing.

Really loved going for drinks & apps in the bar section with the girls.

The dirty martini I had was PERFECTION 🍸🫒 & the service was just excellent.

Absolutely recommend to visit while in Montreal.

Michelin rated food. Top quality service. Historic building.
What more could you ask for in a brunch out with the girls?
The menu is so well-planned, & with so much variety, you'll find it difficult to chose.
Highly recommend the scallops & pastries!
