Situé au Centre ville de Montréal, le Bar George's inscrit dans la continuité du riche passé du Mount Stephen's avec sa cuisine contemporaine mais résolument tournée vers l'avenir.
Bar George est décrit comme un lieu spectaculaire alliant une architecture historique et un cadre intérieur chaleureux, propice autant aux occasions spéciales qu'aux repas autour d'un cocktail. Loved the drinks. Hostess was really nice. It was easy to book, they even called to confirm the reservation. I was running late so they offered to give a later slot. I do feel the bartenders can be more engaging. Once they give you your drink, they don't come back to ask if you need water or a another one. I had to ask twice for a glass of water. It wasn't even that busy. For a place like that, the service standards can be taken up a notch or two.
When we booked to have lunch here, we honestly weren't expecting to be transported back to the 1950's. The environment was cozy & romantic perfect for a date or lunch with family. The food was exceptional, we got the 2 course meal & let me tell you, one of the most tender meats we've ever had. When they said that the meat was braised & cooked for at least 3 hours, they weren't kidding, it's so tender you dont even need a knife to cut through it! The hornish hen was delicious & moist & the butternut squash soup, Wow! Service was great, the waiter came by frequently & always made sure our water glasses are full. The staff is very knowledgeable & kind. I had to take my daughter to get her changed & my food came while I was gone, they got a stainless steel cover to make sure my food wasn't cold by the tie I got back! Highly highly recommend! The experience, service & food 10/10!
Cannot say enough good things about Bar George. The atmosphere is funky but classy, the service is prompt & warm, & the food is scrumptious. My husband & I came here for an early Valentine's Day dinner when we stayed at Le Mount Stephen hotel. The wallpaper is fun & there are dozens of artwork strewn about the wall that makes the environment interesting. We had lovely servers. I had asked what wine might go well with my meal, & the server listed a few & then when I gave my preferences, he let me try two to see which I liked best. Keep in mind, this was just for a glass of wine not even a bottle! It made me feel cared for. We got the mushroom soup, the beet salad, the beef Wellington, & the truffle gnocchi. There was not a bad bite. The flavors went deep & were well balanced. I could've melted into the gnocchi, it was that good. Highly recommend!
Went for the first time for a quick drink before dinner. Ambiance was great, decor is just amazing. Beautiful historic building. Very expensive but enjoyed ourselves nonetheless. Thanks for a nice experience
Delicious meal, ambiance immaculate, they had a DJ playing, but the stunning interior had me feeling like I was in a movie. Service was fabulous. Wine & cocktails were great. Had so much fun.

Beaucoup dans les apparences & dans le sel, rien dans les saveurs. J'avais cette place en tête depuis un moment, j'ai profité d'un samedi matin pour aller y bruncher. J'ai pris le Full English Breakfast & les patates au gras de canard : rien d'exceptionnel ! Le boudin noir a l'avantage de ne pas être sec & les fèves ont l'originalité d'avoir un petit goût fumé mais pour le reste de l'assiette c'est très basique (dans tous les sens du terme). Les patates sont très salées & n'ont pas du tout le goût savoureux de pommes de terre revenues dans du gras de canard. Le cadre est exceptionnel; vraiment très joli & chaleureux. Le service est impeccable dès l'entrée avec les hôtesses qui vous prennent vos manteaux & des serveurs vraiment attentifs; passant assez régulièrement pour étancher les soifs même les plus intenses. Je vous conseille d'y aller pour une boisson chaude & peut-être le panier de viennoiseries qui est moins en proie aux déceptions.

My husband & I really enjoyed the food & atmosphere. The texture & taste of our food was 5 star! We had an appetizer, two main dishes (swordfish & chicken) & the tartelette for dessert.
