Situé au Centre ville de Montréal, le Bar George's inscrit dans la continuité du riche passé du Mount Stephen's avec sa cuisine contemporaine mais résolument tournée vers l'avenir.
Bar George est décrit comme un lieu spectaculaire alliant une architecture historique et un cadre intérieur chaleureux, propice autant aux occasions spéciales qu'aux repas autour d'un cocktail. Beautiful old building, gorgeous interior. Aside from that, hard to get hype about the slow service, expensive mediocre cocktails & general sad/angry rich clientele there. Once was enough!
10/10. I love it here & will keep going back. Great food, wine & cocktail selection. Can't go wrong with steak tartare & champagne. It's the perfect place to take a friend or a few if you want to impress them. Though I don't mind the dining hall, I prefer the bar & surrounding area which is always buzzing & allows you to take in the stunning interiors all around. Also a great spot during F1 season.
We had an incredible experience at Bar George for Sunday Brunch with our family. Our server Mateus was exceptional. The restaurant was so kind they even let us bring out little dog Quita. The truffle scrambled eggs are a must. The bread basket was divine! This restaurant is a must when you're in Montreal. We will definitely be back!
Wowww ! Quelle magnifique restaurant, j'ai tout simplement adoré. Tout était impeccable. L'ambiance, le décor & un service super (Isai coté bar). Un expresso martini 🍸 savoureux & toast aux crevettes de Matane suggéré par mon serveur. J'y retournerai assurément pour le souper.

Overall great experience: good food, prompt & friendly service, & unique atmosphere. We made a dinner reservation & were sat immediately, our waiter & the sommelier were attentive & made wonderful recommendations. While they had a stunning dinning area, it was a bit cramped inside. We had less than a foot of space between the tables next to us, & the layout made it difficult to move thru the dinning area. We were also sat next to the kitchen so it was quite warm during our dinner service.
Service was a bit slow, but it was a busy Friday night. Nice entrance with full wood paneled walls & marble fireplace. Bar area is lighted with candles giving a very elegant look to the place at night. Drinks were as expected. Classics made, but nothing too showy
Had an amazing night at Bar George. If you're from the South, say hi to the guy Jalen from Georgia at the front. Solid dude. Plan on dropping some cash & not regretting it. Our server Kevin was fantastic. He loves to talk about the menu like I love to hear about it. Couldn't ask for a better atmosphere. Every dish was right on point. Also, I'm batting 1,000 on being right about ordering fries at fancy restaurants. Cocktails, oysters, buratta with sunchokes, mushroom soup, fries, lobster risotto, Beef Wellington, Mont Blanc (nice light show), & intense chocolate.....every plate cleaned. Finish with an Irish coffee to be able to get out of there!
Bar attenant à un hôtel boutique, le Bar George impressionne avec sa décoration intérieure soigneusement préservée parce que c'était longtemps un club privé réservé aux gens qui pissent de l'argent hérité de leur famille. Aujourd'hui ouvert au public, l'atmosphère intérieure d'époque est unique à Montréal & probablement aussi au Canada. Nous y étions seulement pour des cocktails, les prix également impressionnent, allant de $15 à $30 le drink donc, l'atmosphère d'époque, ça se paie. Gorgeous restaurant in the opulent Mount Stephen five stars hotel. Historical decor like no other. Unique, timeless. You want to bring your clients & important guests here. The service is absolutely impeccable from top to bottom. The food was good but perhaps not as creative as I have hoped, especially with the price tag. I had the octopus. Although cooked to perfection, everything around it did not work so well together. Nothing was bad, per se, but I searched for what linked all these ingredients & could not make it work. Their selection of wine by the glass is pricey but good. Rather safe than creative but good.
