Situé au Centre ville de Montréal, le Bar George's inscrit dans la continuité du riche passé du Mount Stephen's avec sa cuisine contemporaine mais résolument tournée vers l'avenir.
Bar George est décrit comme un lieu spectaculaire alliant une architecture historique et un cadre intérieur chaleureux, propice autant aux occasions spéciales qu'aux repas autour d'un cocktail. Le service est souvent salué pour son professionnalisme et ses bons conseils sur les plats et les vins, mais des expériences signalent des retards et quelques erreurs lorsque la salle est très fréquentée. Endroit incroyablement beau, bonne ambiance, excellent service, bon café! Cependant, notre petit-déjeuner n'était pas assez savoureux pour un établissement de ce niveau. L'omelette avait le goût envoûtant du bacon frit, les oignons caramélisés avaient des champignons frits jusqu'à ce qu'ils soient secs. Les pommes de terre sont trop salées & trop couvertes d'herbes. Le sandwich à l'avocat était également trop gras avec une sauce peu claire. Après avoir mangé, j'avais une sensation de lourdeur dans l'estomac. C'est dommage. Cependant, l'ambiance générale était tellement bonne que nous avons passé un très bon moment !

One of the most beautiful restaurants I've ever been to! The food is just as beautiful & delicious & the waiters are always there to provide a nice personal touch. I recommend the mushroom soup! ❤️

Gorgeous restaurant. Both the exterior & the interior is really beautiful. The food is also above average, but beef wellington is one of the best you can eat.
Le jeune homme au bar (d'origine sud asiatique) était plutôt sympathique, j'ai beaucoup aimé mon bloody Cesar. Prenez note qu'ils n'ont pas de cornichon. Mais globalement, très belle expérience
Expensive however the atmosphere is very elegant & the drinks are amazing ! They have lots of interesting cocktails very tasty very unique, best place for a date!
Update: After several more visits since my review, I am happy to report that the food & services have been significantly improved. Original review: Unfortunately, i cannot rate this place higher. I have been there three times for various occasions, & here's my take. 1. Food is satisfactory at best. They have potential but everything is so underwhelming, you will want to forget you spent the money. 2. Service is hit & miss. The staff is very visually appealing but behaves poorly (with the exception of the hostesses who are great). They aren't patient, cut off customers mid-sentance when totally unnecessary, & do not track the table throughout the meal. 3. Ambiance... WOW! This building is an absolute gem & it pains me that the food & service don't do it justice.

Space is architecturally interesting. The decor & vibe were great. Food was solid with a few misses. Overripe avocado on expensive avocado toast isn't acceptable. Sausage exceeded expectations. The menu had some imaginative takes on classics. I regretted getting something other than standard fare. With a little more attention to detail the food could have been amazing.
Stepping into this gem of a restaurant, we were immediately enveloped by a warm & welcoming atmosphere. The service was nothing short of impeccable, with each staff member exhibiting a keen attention to detail that set the stage for a perfect dinner. Our waiter, notably knowledgeable about the wine selections, expertly paired the perfect wine- enhancing the evening's culinary journey. Chef Donnel English is a master. His creations were simply out of this world, each dish a testament to refined skill & creativity. The gourmet gnocchi, hands down, ranks among the top three in the world that I have tried. pillowy, perfectly seasoned, & just sublime. This dining experience was a flawless blend of sophisticated flavors & exceptional service, truly a night to remember. Thank you to all the staff at Bar George for sharing your kitchen & dining room with us!
Went for drinks. Beautiful old building. Bar was loud with house music & overpriced drinks. Great to see a restored building, but the music was out of place.
