I had an exceptional dining experience. The atmosphere is simply awesome, with a perfect blend of historic charm & modern elegance. The service was amazing-attentive, friendly, & professional from start to finish. I tried the beef wellington, & it was absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection & full of flavour. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to enjoy a memorable meal in a fantastic setting!
I had the best beef Wellington of my life at Bar George this past week. I was in town for a few days from out west & I was conveniently located. The decor of the bar is great. & the bartender, I think he had a shaved head, he was a good guy to me. I liked him. I will go so far as to say this whole experience was one of the highlights of my trip to Montreal.
Never again. It's not bad but to spend 400$+ for 3 with that food & that service, you'll have to be either a billionaire or with a daddy to come back. We were a party of 3, each had a drink, an appetizer & a main course. Waited about 1-1.5 hours for our main courses, the room was loud with bad music. Overall, 3 stars just cause it's not that bad, but not good either.
Loved our breakfast here! The chia pudding & duck fat potatoes were delicious. Coffee & service were great. The building was absolutely gorgeous. Highly rec!

A mixed experience here. Food was good. Ordered from the prix fixe menu & everything was solid. The desserts were quite exquisite. Service was not great. The staff couldn't keep track of who got what & had to ask us with each course. I'd expect a high end restaurant like this to keep track of that & silently put our plates in front of us. They brought the wrong appetizer to my son, & he then had to wait another ten minutes or so for his. Then, the really irksome thing was that they didn't have the bottle of wine we wanted & suggested another. Their suggested wine cost quite a bit more than the first, but they didn't disclose this fact until we got the bill. All told, a very expensive lunch for the level of service.
We had the best night at bar George. It is truly such a stunning room, you could stare at it for hours & never capture all the details. Our service was exceptional on a busy Friday day. The Dj was awesome & everyone was grooving
Didnt expect to stay more than 30min after some drinks... Stayed 3 hours. Every drink & dish was phenominal. Order the Bobby sour but dont order the whiskey sour because Bobby sour is just that good (& get espresso martini & deleuxe old fashion)

So beautiful inside! If history & architecture are your thing, you have to eat here! The round bar is also very cool & they had a DJ. Beef wellington was insanely good!
Everthing about this place is amazing! Their Wellington was to die for. The subtle flavors from the purees & the sauce made it worth every dollar. Service was excellent.
We went to Bar George earlier tonight to meet up a friend visiting from out of the country. Apparently there was an issue with the order ticketing system & our orders were not sent to the kitchen until much later. We hadn't noticed too much because we were having a great time. But the staff noticed, & unprompted brought us a complimentary starter & removed an item from the bill (again, all of this was without us saying anything!). We were blown away by their hospitality & this gesture. Amazing! Food as before was great, & love the charm of the place.
Very elegant & nice restaurant to celebrate a special occasion. You should definitely try their specialty, the Beef Wellington & the black truffle gnocchis. The place is amazing as well. It looks like a castle or a mansion. It is an expensive restaurant, but it is worth it.
