Situé au Centre ville de Montréal, le Bar George's inscrit dans la continuité du riche passé du Mount Stephen's avec sa cuisine contemporaine mais résolument tournée vers l'avenir.
Bar George est décrit comme un lieu spectaculaire alliant une architecture historique et un cadre intérieur chaleureux, propice autant aux occasions spéciales qu'aux repas autour d'un cocktail. Le service est souvent salué pour son professionnalisme et ses bons conseils sur les plats et les vins, mais des expériences signalent des retards et quelques erreurs lorsque la salle est très fréquentée. La cuisine est généralement de haut niveau avec des plats comme le Beef Wellington et le risotto au homard, bien que certaines critiques pointent une croûte du Wellington pas assez croustillante et un rapport qualité-prix parfois discuté, les portions pouvant varier. Les cocktails et l'atmosphère du bar sont souvent loués, mais certains trouvent les prix élevés et le volume musical trop fort pour discuter tranquillement. Ambiance chaleureuse. Service impeccable. Sommelier très sympathique & à l'écoute. Tout le personnel est vraiment parfait. J'ai adoré la burrata en entrée.

The dining rooms are amazing; an architectural jewel. Sommelier is excellent with his recommendations. Service is prompt & efficient (thanks Kevin) with just some lag at the end.
The burrata & courge appetizer was deliciously creamy.
I was disappointed by the excessively salty lobster risotto & the lack of fluff in the puff pastry of the beef wellington with slightly chewy filet mignon.
We also had a chance to visit the adjacent hotel (thanks Zacharie!) & would highly recommend a stay here.
Older: Corporate event in the hotel. Cocktails were decent, but the presentation room was not as nice as the actual bar which looked amazing.
This should definitely be on the top of your list if you're visiting Montreal, there's a lot of history with the building & the cocktails are incredible. I'm heading back to Montreal in a few weeks & I can't wait to go & try their food next. Sidenote if you like good vibes, they had a really great DJ playing towards the second half of the night.

Great little fancy find! We did not partake in dining, but the bar area is historical & beautiful, & the bartenders are overly accommodating & full of wonderful suggestions!
It was a great atmosphere & the waiter went out of his way to please us: we asked a dessert out of the breakfast menu & he made it happen for us. The interior is really impressive!
Nice little hidden bar inside a luxury hotel, but with such an authentic charm you cannot miss paying a visit. Perfect for those freezing winter days, with perfect wood all over makes the perfect ambiance to be cozy & enjoy some drinks. I had a Bloody Caesar which was spicy, & flavorful & some oysters, which were local & fresh. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable & efficient. Perfect place for a shopping break!
Was here in January for both brunch & dinner. I enjoyed brunch more than the dinner. The service was great even though the restaurant was very busy. The matane toast is a must as well as the pain perdu. The duck fat potatoes were very disappointing as they did not taste fresh.
Je suis allée bruncher avec une amie un samedi matin avant 11h, & c'était très bon. La qualité des ingrédients est superbe, les présentations sont belles. Le vibe général est moins prétentieux qu'on peut penser vu l'extravagance de l'architecture. Maxence en particulier était super gentil & attentionné. J'ai pris le gravlax de saumon & mon amie les toasts à l'avocat. Prochaine fois j'essaye la Fleur Kalamansi. Par contre, j'avais encore très faim après mon gravlax à 30$.
