Bar George est décrit comme un lieu spectaculaire alliant une architecture historique et un cadre intérieur chaleureux, propice autant aux occasions spéciales qu'aux repas autour d'un cocktail. I mostly eat vegetarian, sometimes a little bit of chicken, so the food for me was somewhat limited. But I really enjoyed the vibe & the drinks. Would recommend Bar George to almost everyone. It's a pretty historic place & is a good time.
Went to Bar George to try their famous brunch & to celebrate a friend's birthday. Although the table is too small for the big brunch plates, the waiter found a way to make it comfy & spacious enough to hold our coffee & side orders. Food is good, though its not what I expected for the price we pay. But the overall feel, the ambiance & the aesthetics of the place is already a plus factor in choosing this resto as an ultimate brunch place. I would recommend? Definitely & will be back soon!

Strong service experience from the reception & the efficient coat check.
The dining rooms are amazing; an architectural jewel. Sommelier is excellent with his recommendations. Service is prompt & efficient (thanks Kevin) with just some lag at the end.
The burrata & courge appetizer was deliciously creamy.
I was disappointed by the excessively salty lobster risotto & the lack of fluff in the puff pastry of the beef wellington with slightly chewy filet mignon.
We also had a chance to visit the adjacent hotel (thanks Zacharie!) & would highly recommend a stay here.
Older: Corporate event in the hotel. Cocktails were decent, but the presentation room was not as nice as the actual bar which looked amazing.
J'aime beaucoup l'ambiance intime, l'architecture & le service du Bar George. Je n'y ai jamais mangé mais je peux recommander pour une date-night/prendre un verre.
On a mis les pieds au Bar George récemment, & dès qu'on est entrés, on a senti qu'on était dans un endroit vraiment spécial. Du plancher au plafond, chaque détail du décor est pensé pour créer une atmosphère à la fois chic & chaleureuse. Les boiseries, les lustres & les touches de décoration ancienne donnent un cachet unique, presque royal, qui invite à s'installer & à profiter du moment. Côté ambiance, c'est magnifique, confortable & très accueillant. On se sent transportés dans une autre époque, sans pour autant perdre le côté convivial qu'on aime tant au Québec. Le service est au même niveau que le décor: impeccable. Le personnel est souriant, à l'écoute & prêt à faire de bonnes suggestions. On a d'ailleurs suivi la recommandation de notre serveuse pour un vin blanc qui s'est avéré délicieux. En accompagnement, on a commandé les "Devils on horseback", un plat surprenant mêlant bacon, amandes, prunes, foie fouetté & sauce Réforme. Honnêtement, c'était un pur régal! Entre l'ambiance feutrée, la grande classe des lieux & le service irréprochable, on peut dire que Bar George sait comment choyer ses clients. Si vous cherchez un endroit raffiné pour un verre ou un repas, c'est définitivement un incontournable à Montréal. Cheers!
Restaurant 5 étoiles, toujours à la hauteur, la bouffe est exceptionnelle avec une touche d'art! Le service est très professionnel & à haut niveau ! L'ambiance est magnifique, tu te sens que t'es dans un ancien château anglais ! C'est pas ma première visite & j'y retournerai je recommande fortement

We arrived early & decided to enjoy the bar first. We received excellent service from a knowledgeable & personable bartender. Afterward, we moved to the dining area for dinner, equally pleased with the service & ambiance. The beef Wellington, snooki, & chicken dinners are highly recommended; you won't be disappointed. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. We highly recommend this establishment.
Nous avons été dans ce restaurant pour l'anniversaire d'un ami. Le lieu est tout simplement magnifique, les moulures & les tapisseries sur les murs en bois sont très bien entretenu. La nourriture est excellente. Je vous recommande le boeuf wellington of course ! Forcément les prix sont assez élevé & la facture monte très très vite. Une expérience que je recommande malgré cela.
I absolutely love this place! I highly recommend making a reservation for the weekend brunch. Service is impeccable, & the food is outstanding. At our table, my wife had the halloumi & avocado on toast, our friends had the full English & eggs bendict with bacon, & I had the eggs benedict with their house made black pudding (pictured). Coffees & ceasars rounded out the meals. Everything was divine. A big thanks to our server, Lena, for her smashing attention to detail & professionalism. Our next trip to Montreal will definitely include a return.
Good hospitality...few vegetarian options but the food was delicious.... cocktails were very average for the price point of 30$... Definitely recommend for a victorian era pub feel...

UPDATE: came back a second time & am just as impressed! The pavlova was divine I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious the food was (I had a beef tartare & pasta sauce). The service was excellent, going above & beyond to take into consideration my allergies & even sharing some tips on how to recreate the same meal at home. Would recommend in a heart beat!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had an incredible experience at Bar George! The pornstar martini was absolutely delicious-definitely a must-try. The atmosphere is simply amazing; it's cozy yet vibrant, filled with the delightful sounds of conversation that make it feel alive. The intricate carvings adorning the walls & ceilings are stunning & add a unique charm to the space. I can't wait to return! Highly recommend!
Went for dinner with my husband & it was such an amazing experience. The place itself is breathtaking, with a detailed handcrafted interior design, wooden sculpted wall panels & elegant chandeliers. The service is excellent, our waiter was very attentive & offered impeccable service during the entire evening. The food is beautifully presented, & each dish we ordered was a great culinary experience. The beef wellington was like a piece of art with vibrant colors surrounding the beef slices. As for the dessert, we ordered the monochrome, & I can safely say that it was probably one of the best desserts I've ever had. Each little piece is a combination of several layers of biscuit, mousse & other ingredients that blend perfectly well together as well as with the delicious ice cream accompanying it. Highly recommend this place for fine dining, such an experience!

Very Nice place in Montreal. I prefered the bar area over the restaurant area. The Cocktails were good. I haven't been impressed by the food though. Might be because I took the tartare but didn't make me want to order more. My friend ordered something else & was happy with his choice. Service was nice! I recommend for a drink, in the bar section.
I had a reservation at a table but decided to sit at the bar instead. Best decision! Service was fast & friendly, my cocktail was great & the black truffle gnocchi was beyond amazing. Sure, the meals are on the more expensive side but I find this restaurant to be so worth it based on the quality of the items & the beauty of the place within itself. Highly recommend!
The food was seriously mid. We did not like the duck breast & beef bourguignon, do not recommend. However, the dessert was delicious & the interior was very nice.
My boyfriend & I ordered the salmon last night it tasted like frozen airplane food. You could tell the vegetables came from the microwave there was no char on them & they had that typical pre-packaged vegetables cut, the food was way too salty the fish was overcooked & dry I don't understand why they feel comfortable charging 60 dollars for a Hello fresh type plate. The place itself is pretty but I don't recommend eating there it feels like a tourist trap & the front staff has the friendliness of a fast food worker.
This place is a dream , feels like you travel in time when you are there . I came there with a friend to get some drinks at night, we ended up staying in the hotel upstairs (despite having another hotel booked ) & stayed next day for both breakfast & lunch. I couldn't get enough of it. Took pictures of everything & every corner of this place , service is very good, everyone is very friendly & food is delicious. Highly recommend to come after sunset when they light up the candles , the vibe is incredible. I will definitely be back every-time I visit Montreal . Will be posting this place on my Insta as well ❤️
