Situé au Centre ville de Montréal, le Bar George's inscrit dans la continuité du riche passé du Mount Stephen's avec sa cuisine contemporaine mais résolument tournée vers l'avenir.
Bar George est décrit comme un lieu spectaculaire alliant une architecture historique et un cadre intérieur chaleureux, propice autant aux occasions spéciales qu'aux repas autour d'un cocktail. Le service est souvent salué pour son professionnalisme et ses bons conseils sur les plats et les vins, mais des expériences signalent des retards et quelques erreurs lorsque la salle est très fréquentée. Went there for brunch , the place is beautiful, it must be amazing to have a drink there near the bar. Our waiter was nice & friendly. We tried the burger, salmon & the lobster omelette. The omelette was definitely the best choice. The texture of the omelette & the lobster were amazing. I would probably go back for the omelette again. The other dishes were good but a bit on the salty side.
Great architecture, appetizers were good, oysters wetter very nice from PEI & drinks were very good. Just for the architecture & ambiance it is worth the visit. They also sit you at the bar which was kind of nice.

We came on Friday afternoon to celebrate with a drink. We sat at the bar. The worst bartender service ever. The bartender was behaving like he does not have time for us. & $21 for Aperol spritz? If you're going to charge $21 for a classic cocktail, I expect good hospitality. Won't go again.
Magnificent atmosphere, the utmost staff professionalism & some of the tastiest food & drinks I've ever had. I recommend anyone to pay a visit themselves, & at a bare minimum try the bar. It is very haute-couture with a dash of modernity, so dress in a reasonably decent fashion; I would say smart casual is the cut. The scenery is of an ostentatious late 19th century decor that contains 140+ years of Montreal history. The stained glass is mesmerizing, the woodwork unbelievable. Shout out to Jonathan, the best waiter in the dining hall for the last 3 years I've been visiting - an absolute champion who's extremely knowledgeable & provides the most fantastic service I've ever received at any restaurant. Perfect place for firewalls, meetings, & special occasions, avoid F1 nights too crowded for nothing special. If you do not like the crowd & people pushing each other with their drinks like me don't buy ticket. Thursdays are the best! Valet available & underground as well.
Bar George is in a great space & has great food to boost. I think this was our most expensive meal in Montreal, but my wife loved the lobster risotto. My steak was amazing as well. Drinks were great & waitstaff was friendly. A great visit!

Never again. It's not bad but to spend 400$+ for 3 with that food & that service, you'll have to be either a billionaire or with a daddy to come back. We were a party of 3, each had a drink, an appetizer & a main course. Waited about 1-1.5 hours for our main courses, the room was loud with bad music. Overall, 3 stars just cause it's not that bad, but not good either.
Didnt expect to stay more than 30min after some drinks... Stayed 3 hours. Every drink & dish was phenominal. Order the Bobby sour but dont order the whiskey sour because Bobby sour is just that good (& get espresso martini & deleuxe old fashion)
Expensive however the atmosphere is very elegant & the drinks are amazing ! They have lots of interesting cocktails very tasty very unique, best place for a date!
Went for drinks. Beautiful old building. Bar was loud with house music & overpriced drinks. Great to see a restored building, but the music was out of place.

Service was a bit slow, but it was a busy Friday night. Nice entrance with full wood paneled walls & marble fireplace. Bar area is lighted with candles giving a very elegant look to the place at night. Drinks were as expected. Classics made, but nothing too showy
Bar attenant à un hôtel boutique, le Bar George impressionne avec sa décoration intérieure soigneusement préservée parce que c'était longtemps un club privé réservé aux gens qui pissent de l'argent hérité de leur famille. Aujourd'hui ouvert au public, l'atmosphère intérieure d'époque est unique à Montréal & probablement aussi au Canada. Nous y étions seulement pour des cocktails, les prix également impressionnent, allant de $15 à $30 le drink donc, l'atmosphère d'époque, ça se paie. Loved the drinks. Hostess was really nice. It was easy to book, they even called to confirm the reservation. I was running late so they offered to give a later slot. I do feel the bartenders can be more engaging. Once they give you your drink, they don't come back to ask if you need water or a another one. I had to ask twice for a glass of water. It wasn't even that busy. For a place like that, the service standards can be taken up a notch or two.
