Situé au Centre ville de Montréal, le Bar George's inscrit dans la continuité du riche passé du Mount Stephen's avec sa cuisine contemporaine mais résolument tournée vers l'avenir.
Bar George est décrit comme un lieu spectaculaire alliant une architecture historique et un cadre intérieur chaleureux, propice autant aux occasions spéciales qu'aux repas autour d'un cocktail. Le service est souvent salué pour son professionnalisme et ses bons conseils sur les plats et les vins, mais des expériences signalent des retards et quelques erreurs lorsque la salle est très fréquentée. La cuisine est généralement de haut niveau avec des plats comme le Beef Wellington et le risotto au homard, bien que certaines critiques pointent une croûte du Wellington pas assez croustillante et un rapport qualité-prix parfois discuté, les portions pouvant varier. Les cocktails et l'atmosphère du bar sont souvent loués, mais certains trouvent les prix élevés et le volume musical trop fort pour discuter tranquillement. Got drinks. Service is meh. It's such a shame that they have such a great historical building & the original interiors feel like opulence, but the service & upkeep of the space is a huge letdown. The lounge section of the bar is not worth it. Same price for drinks but zero ambiance. Decor, seating arrangements & lighting feels cheap & easy; worlds away from the main room.
Very Nice place in Montreal. I prefered the bar area over the restaurant area. The Cocktails were good. I haven't been impressed by the food though. Might be because I took the tartare but didn't make me want to order more. My friend ordered something else & was happy with his choice. Service was nice! I recommend for a drink, in the bar section.
Went on here for the last night of my vacation, & I couldn't have picked a better spot. The bar is gorgeously constructed, the staff competent & kind, & the food & drinks were absolutely delicious. If I don't come back one day it's because I'm dead.
Bar George is a busy spot, even at 5pm on a very rainy Wednesday. Putting your name at the host stand & waiting in line is also somewhat convoluted as they assumed since I was speaking in English, my first language wasn't french & I could not understand the regulars that kept getting admitted no reservation before us, because they know somebody. Additionally, sitting at the bar, the drinks were great, but there were items missing from the list & that's always a faux-pas for me when you don't offer your full menu. The bar itself is gorgeous though, & the vibe is fantastic.

The interior decor was well-crafted woodworking. Started at the bar & got good service as the bartender worked with the hostess to ensure a smooth move to the dining room-rolled the drinks into a single check. The ambiance in the dining room was even nicer. Such a soothing, quiet evening with my wife. The burrata & halibut were top-notch. Portions are only moderately-sized so our usual strategy of splitting an appetizer & an entree left me still a little hungry so I ordered some dessert named after a mountain in Switzerland that they set on fire before I got a chance to eat it. It was also delicious, but my wife only took one bite because she wanted to watch her figure. Unfortunately, it rained on our walk back to the hotel & my wife's hair got messed up, or so she claims. I didn't notice any difference in her hair.
Thursday night in August. Impressive entrance the crafts people who made this building would be famous today it is that gorgeous. Attached hotels seems like it might be cool. But as for our dinner: it was merely fine. I'm putting photographs of what we ate. Lost the one of the beef Wellington, which my partner said was really good. Our server had far too many tables for one individual to adequately help. Well, I had to return my club soda for being flat after waiting 10 minutes to get a drink, it was a little frustrating. The lime was so dry & had literally no juice. He mentioned that the green beans were not delicious & he offered to take it off the bill, which I didn't expect so that was very nice. It probably saved his tip! All in all worth it to visit for a drink. Not the culinary adventure we enjoy.

We were there for drinks. The service & the atmosphere were really good. But the name is a little bigger than the services. It wasn't something special compared to pricing.
Very kind extremely polite waiter & nice drinks. I got a jasmine one of some sort. Absolutely gorgeous experience & even down to the coasters. Will definitely come again!!

This place is a dream , feels like you travel in time when you are there . I came there with a friend to get some drinks at night, we ended up staying in the hotel upstairs (despite having another hotel booked ) & stayed next day for both breakfast & lunch. I couldn't get enough of it. Took pictures of everything & every corner of this place , service is very good, everyone is very friendly & food is delicious. Highly recommend to come after sunset when they light up the candles , the vibe is incredible. I will definitely be back every-time I visit Montreal . Will be posting this place on my Insta as well ❤️
Nice view. Got lucky to make a booking the evening of & choose dining room or terrace. Drinks were top notch. Beet salad was artistically delicate & delightful. Lobster risotto was perfect. Wished the beef was seared in the beef Wellington. Overall, pleasant evening.
Only went for cocktails so cannot speak to the whole experience but ambiance was great. Historical building inside & beautiful, modern patio outside. Great spot for people watching. My drink was ok, nothing extraordinary but definitely was a cool spot. Service was great.
We watched the football game at George & we had the best time. Their food is terrific, the drinks are perfect & their service is really nice ! Would highly recommend
We only had a couple of drinks, oisters & fries, & everything was great. Will come back again for more whenever we have a chance. But... very expensive!
