A beautiful restaurant. I visited here a few times. Always enjoyed the food & atmosphere. The only thing I would say is the portion size, & it's a bit pricey for the amount of food offered. For example, today we went for brunch. The dish is so small. We had to order side dishes to feel a bit full. I recommend that the restaurant reconsider its portion size. Maybe supply those nice duck fat potatoes as part of the meal. I think when customers feel satisfied & full, they will come back.
Came here for brunch. While the building interior is nice to look at, the food was average but priced high. The espresso machine was not working, so I asked for drip coffee & I didn't receive it until I was almost finished my meal. They also forgot the milk though I requested it.
Then I went to the bathroom once I was finished eating, & I had to take a phone call while I was in there. I didn't think I was gone too long (probably 20 min? Or less) & I was surprised to see my table had been cleared off & my coat gone. I was very annoyed that they moved my coat, & they told me it was because they thought I left? It's raining/light snow outside, why would I leave without my jacket? I had intentionally left it there so that they knew I was coming back.
Anyways, it made me feel very rushed to leave, though all in all I had only been there for an hour. So I paid almost $80 for an average meal (toast, scrambled eggs & potatoes), below average service & for them to make me feel I was being rushed out. I wouldn't come back here despite the building being beautiul. I would just say, do not move someone's belongings next time.
Would be one star if not for their brunch, which can be quite nice.
First time eating dinner here & wow, what a let down. The prices are outrageous, you can eat at some of the finest restaurants in Montreal for less.
The food was tasty, but was hard to enjoy given the poor service leading up to it. The restaurant was not even busy, but our cocktails took an hour to reach the table. The drinks we ordered with our food came when we were already done eating both courses.
I can't remember the last time a higher end restaurant charged for bread ($10), so you can imagine the disappointment when the bread was stale & unappetizing.
Overall, easily the top 3 worst Montreal restaurant experiences I've had in the last few years.
I went for the brunch service on a Saturday. The service was attentive & I had a full English breakfast which was pretty good. I had ordered eggs over medium but they were a bit overcooked. A minor issue but I'd visit again when I'm next in town.
Went to Bar George to try their famous brunch & to celebrate a friend's birthday. Although the table is too small for the big brunch plates, the waiter found a way to make it comfy & spacious enough to hold our coffee & side orders. Food is good, though its not what I expected for the price we pay. But the overall feel, the ambiance & the aesthetics of the place is already a plus factor in choosing this resto as an ultimate brunch place. I would recommend? Definitely & will be back soon!
Was here in January for both brunch & dinner. I enjoyed brunch more than the dinner. The service was great even though the restaurant was very busy. The matane toast is a must as well as the pain perdu. The duck fat potatoes were very disappointing as they did not taste fresh.
