We went to Bangkok Express & overall had a great experience.
The atmosphere is really nice, with a warm & lively vibe, & the prices are very reasonable, especially for the variety offered on the menu.
Food-wise, it was a good mix:
• The spring rolls & tom yum soup were excellent, full of flavor & very satisfying
• The pad thai was very good, although just a little on the oily side
• The fried rice was good, but not particularly memorable
• Cocktails were nice, but slightly on the sweeter side
Service was smooth & the overall experience was very enjoyable.
In short, a solid & satisfying spot with great value for money. We'll definitely be back.
They have a lunch special, which is $17.95 & includes a coffee or tea, but they will not let you substitute a soda (even though a soda on the menu is the same price as a coffee or tea). I do not like hot drinks. I was very angry because this policy made no logical sense, but I stayed polite. I ate the lunch special & tipped 15% because I do not like confrontation. I should have just walked out then: a place that will nickel & dime you like that is probably cutting corners on the food too. The menu looked alright, but the lunch special was the cheapest option, & even that seemed too high. I will not be back, despite living 3 blocks away. Imperial roles were super greasy.
A few items are excellent & a great price for the item.
Last night ordered general tai was sub par.
Nice not to have it breaded but dry & little flavour & no heat. Quite disappointing
The ChoChee fish has yet to disappoint.
Service was friendly, food was excellent & the price was just right. I really enjoyed my experience.
We ordered Thai red curry soup & crispy dumplings to start with, the soup was way too watery & lacked flavor. I had to pour some of the dipping sauce that came with the dumplings into the soup.
We ordered the choo-chee fish, Thai red curry with shrimp & beef udon. I made the mistake of asking them to make the food spicy, it was so spicy that we were crying, & we can handle spice. Also, there is no rice with the curries, so you have to order them separate which obviously cost more. The portion of ice-cream (which we got because of the food being overly spicy) was also too small for the price. The Thai milk tea was my savior.
This was my 4th time going to this restaurant, I don't know if I might be going back.
Always fresh, hot & ready to eat. The chicken was crispy enough without being overdone. Served with rice & stir fried with yummy veggies. I have also had the bass fish on previous occasions, which is so good....!!! Out server was great & had all explanations needed for my friend dining there for the first time. Always a casual & very friendly atmosphere. I'll be going back for sure !! We had the lunch menu at a good price.
Lovely lunch menu. Reasonably priced. Food was fresh & well prepared.
We went for an end of year work supper. The service was great. The food was sooo tasty (& I am a food snob). Generous portions at a really good price. I whole heartedly recommend this place. They were very flexible with people's preferences & intolerances as well (vegan options & gluten-free). I have NO negative comment about this place. You should go !
Came here during Imagine Monkland, this street had an amazing vibe, so we got a terrace seat. Food was great, didn't have to wait long, & the price is pretty much average of what you would expect nowadays. However, what's best here was the stellar service. People that worked here were super friendly & efficient. I haven't had such great service in a really long time. They seemed like they genuinely love the job, so good on them. I would definitely recommend this place to others.
WE FOUND HAIR ON THREE DISHES *server was helpful Ordered 3 items & Thai milk tea ( Panang Chicken Curry, Beef Udon, & Garlic Pepper Shrimp) Garlic Pepper Shrimp was very bland, the taste were not up to our expectations. We love the Beef Udon & Panang Chicken Curry but we found a hair on both, our server was very friendly & offered us free Ice cream & the whole meal to be free. We got our ice cream & we happened to find another hair in the ice cream. We've been to Bangkok Express for several times, but this time we really did not enjoy the experience. Overall, the food tasted fair for the price, & we paid for the Thai milk tea, server was super helpful & patient (5 star for service), but the restaurant should really do a quality control.
Halal!!!! Finally asian restaurant that doesn't toss everything in soya sauce an call it food & have halal option!!!!! 1. Customer service - 12/10. I did uber eats & had to call the restaurant. The girl on the phone was patient & courteous. 2. Their chicken items are Halal. Its a dream for Montreal muslims to have halal Asian spots. There isn't many options 3. Quality & Quantity - 100/10. I never had friend rice taste like this. It is extremely flavourful, yet very simple & light. I ordered 6 items everything tasted different to each other, unique & flavourful. 4. Price- 6/10 price could have been better. Please do not change the quality & taste. It was very refreshing to eat here. Please highlight on your website & uber eats you serve halal. Many will orde
Fantastic local place, tasty food , sweet, sour & spicy perfectly balanced as it is supposed to be with Thai food, great prices, fast friendly service , pleasant atmosphere, definitely worth a visit
Cozy place to go - great neighbourhood joint. Staff is friendly & food is good. Prices are very reasonable Martine & Mike from Beaconsfield
This place is a hidden gem. Food is amazing & prices are good for what you eat. Portions are quite good as well. Try the garlic chicken!
Nice thai place. Reasonable prices & amazing taste. Always try the thai mango sticky rice if they have it

We ordered take out here & the food was so good it drove me to write my first ever restaurant review. We got green curry, pad see ew, & a few appetizers. Everything was top notch. The pieces of meat were generous & of good size. The other ingredients seemed to be high quality & authentic. Of note they used bamboo shoots & asian eggplant that I usually see substituted out so I considered them a real treat here.
This place certainly blows away Thai Express & Sesame which Montrealers may be familiar with. I consider Thai Express to be of low quality, but reasonably priced. I consider Sesame to be chintzy for its price & only marginally better than Thai Express. If you have another local Thai place you love I can't speak to that, but if Bangkok Express is near enough to you I recommend giving it a try.
Note that we ordered take out rather than dined in, but I gave the service high marks because the food was ready quickly & the take out person was very friendly & prompt.
After waiting for 10 minutes at the door to be seated, our presence was finally acknowledged & we went to eat on the terasse. The appetizers (fried dumplings & egg rolls) were quite good. The 2 entrees were garlic chicken (very small chicken pieces) & the Pad Thai which really disappointed me as it was quite greasy & had very little meat & only 2 small shrimp. Prices are quite reasonable & service is passable.
