The Au Pied de Cochon restaurant is where it all began. Passed from one generation to the next, family knowledge contributes to the restaurant's reputation. Constantly evolving, the Pied de Cochon celebrates its 20th anniversary in November 2021. This à la carte restaurant is located in the heart of the Plateau Mont-Royal. Authentic to its Quebec and Canadian roots, the dishes are hearty and comforting. Adopting the style from French brasseries, the chef and his team draw inspiration from local and seasonal products to create a timeless menu. With private import wines, beers brewed in Montreal, and signature cocktails, Au Pied de Cochon restaurant is a friendly place where local products are showcased. There is one of the first open kitchens in Montreal where you can see the cooks in action.

Obviously top tier professionals in the restaurant experience. Lovely spot for date night.
Open kitchen concept, but very hot inside as a result. The entry way is cramped, that's the only pain point.
Lively atmosphere & delicious food. We had the foie gras poutine as the highlight.
We ordered the special pork dish as well:
We felt a bit misled with this one. The pork dish alone could have fed 4 people.... there were 2 of us...
I wish the server had explained more clearly how much food we were ordering... the server recommended it to us, so I assumed that we ordered appropriately. We were shocked with how much pork came on the dish...
We felt guilty leaving food on the plate, & overate as a result.
Would return. Food was incredible, but a small hole was burnt into the wallet here. Not a once a week joint.
Minimum 15 on a glass of wine.

The visit from the chef showed what a passion he has for his business & the recognition that I would need a better knife for the duck in the can was great. Starters were incredibly flavorful the poultry dish however stole the show along with the nigiri Foie. We enjoyed 5 different wines & we will hopefully return to Montreal to enjoy again.

The waiting staff were excellent, & the food- well, I don't have the words to fully express how wonderful it was. The foie gras starters in particular stand out. I would highly recommend a visit, make sure you get a place at the bar!

via LibroFood was subpar for a purported "Michelin-star worthy." The aged pork chop was fatty, overall under seasoned, & lacked freshness (a bit of citrus or even fresh apple, perhaps?). The duck breast, albeit delicious, was so tough, it could not be sliced without a fair amount of elbow grease or at all - we left about 1/3 of the breast on the plate. However, the accompanied the duck (including foie gras, camelized onions, & celeriac puree. Unfortunately, the brown butter was missing in action. Long waiting time for food, waiter a little distracted, & close quarters (my chair kept being bumped by the person sitting behind me & my companion's chair was in the throughway - she had to stand up once to let a person through).

I have been eating at your restaurant for close to 20 years, whenever I visit Montreal. I love sitting at the bar for a great experience watching the chefs or bartender work. Service is always friendly & excellent, even though my French isn't good. Everyone will speak English to me, which is appreciated. I was even in a bind because of internet issues & your manager shared a wifi code to help me out.
Food quality is always outstanding. I always get the Poutine with Foie Gras. This visit I also enjoyed the bison tartare, also delicious & flavorful!! I regularly recommend your restaurant to anyone coming to Montreal! I can wait for my next visit because no one makes poutine like yours!! 😋😋

We really liked our meal but expected a bit more for the price brackets.
We were sitting at the bar & got told by our waiter that what we wanted to order was out of stock (tuna steak).
20 minutes later we hear the line cook saying she didn't understand why no tuna was being sold since it was one of the best meat they had on their menu.
