AMAZING QUALITY FOOD. I've had many bowls of pho in Montreal & this place has the best quality noodles & best quality beef, &, the broth & the vegetabes are fresh & aromatic. Once again, it's quality, & you just know it is.
It's a beautiful restaurant.
Fri-Sun live music & more.
Great ambiance.
Thank you for existing !
The 2nd worst pho I've had in my life unfortunately. The broth seemed to be lukewarm & the noodles seemed chopped up, there were very many short noodles. Pho tends to be a very subtle & herbal broth but the one i ordered was incredibly plain. To top it off, they didnt offer any spices on the side such as chili oil flakes or sirarcha. They also did not offer any of the usual like string bean, mint leaves, or chili peppers. All I was given was a small bottle of hoisin & a small piece of lime on the side. I was feeling very uncertain even just walking in because it was crowded when I entered but seemed to be exclusively older white people (& I mean exclusively - I happened to be the only Asian person eating at this Asian restuarant during my visit). I chalked it up to just coming in during an odd time but I wonder if perhaps they've catered their kitchen to accomodate only this demographic.
Both the beef broth, & the chicken broth are just amazing. You can taste the quality, the absence of MSG, & the collagen.
There are no many restaurants in Montreal who make great Pho. Luckily for us Au 14 is one of them ☺?
The Vietnamese restaurant at 14 Prince-Arthur Street in Montreal is a welcoming spot that blends comforting flavors with a relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere. For photographers from Photolator, its warm lighting, simple décor, & colorful plates offer plenty of opportunities to capture authentic, down-to-earth dining scenes.
The menu covers all the classics - fragrant pho with rich, slow-simmered broth, fresh spring rolls with vibrant herbs, & generous vermicelli bowls topped with perfectly grilled meats. Portions are hearty, flavors are balanced, & the presentation, though home-style, has a natural charm ideal for candid food photography.
Service is attentive yet unfussy, making it a pleasant place to linger after a shoot. Whether you're looking to recharge between photo sessions or document the soul of Montreal's diverse food scene, this spot is a flavorful & photogenic choice.
Love this place so much. Magic rolls, a pho & a beer are my-go to order. In covid i would take the magic rolls to go & sit in the park. Get the magic rolls. They werent messing around when they called them magic. Theyre magic
You can't go wrong at Au 14. It's casual, friendly & the quality of the food for the price cannot be beat! Obviously the pho is the way to go! But give me a bowl of vermicelli & grilled pork any day! & get the spring rolls, regular or vegetarian are great. They don't fall apart! & that being said, it's the perfect spot for groups & lots of vegetarian options.
