Everything was perfect from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious, the beetroot latte was incredible, & the pastries were just amazing! The atmosphere is warm & coz. A perfect spot to work, study or enjoy quality time with friends or family. Highly recommend this place
Beautiful study spot with amazing food to get me through finals. It's a bit pricey, but so is everything nowadays. The atmosphere is absolutely gorgeous & all the pastries looked incredible! I came on a Sunday just after opening & stayed all day until closing at 3. The place was packed the whole time!
I had the shakshouka. The crispy chickpeas & pomegranate seeds on top really put this over the top. So so delicious & very filling.
This place has its own unique atmosphere, delicious cuisine & pastries. It is a good place to work on your laptop or spend time with a friend. Sometimes it's too busy & noisy so not very comfortable to talk.
mea Café is one of those polished, design-forward café-restaurants that leans more toward a'high-end cafeteria' than a traditional coffee shop. Located inside the historic Maison Alcan, the space is a standout: large, bright, with high ceilings & a refined, almost architectural feel.
The food is Mediterranean-inspired, with a menu that goes beyond pastries-Roman-style pizzas, salads, vegetable dishes, & brunch plates. Execution is generally strong, with good ingredient quality & clean presentation. Pastries & desserts are a highlight, although consistency can vary depending on the item.
Service is casual (order at the counter, food brought to table), & the place is clearly optimized for a mix of use cases: quick lunch, informal meetings, or working sessions.
hidden gem right between Mcgill & Concordia downtown campus. The cafe is within a building with an open space seating type. Your food gets brought to you while you have to pick up your drink from the bar. The pistachio round pastry was so delicious & sweet. The chai latte was good. The avocado toast I got was good, I just wished the mushrooms & eggs were warmer. Would definitely go back for the pastries.
The pastries are disappointingly poor, the atmosphere way too loud, & a staff person kicked me out of my table, which was apparently reserved for noon at 11:45am. They really need to up their pastry game: the meringue was gritty (sugar not properly mixed in), the laminated pastry was chewy rather than flaky, & the flavours need improvement as well. Very pretty place, though.
I really enjoy coming here. I try & get out of my house to work & love that they have a lot of spots for seating.
The Cafe is open early & serves pastries & drinks. You can order to go or stay & enjoy. If I'm not mistaken I think you can order breakfast food from the kitchen but that's it. The Lunch menu / Kitchen isn't available until lunch time. There you will have an abundance of lunch options from sandwiches, pizzas, salads, etc.
I've had their sandwiches, very large portions & very delicious. It is on the pricier side but good nonetheless. If you plan on eating inside the cafe, they give you a number & bring you your food which is nice especially when you're studying or chatting with friends.
The servers are very friendly & the space is kept very clean!
Only caveat is that I wish there were more spots with outlets - there are booths that don't have outlets & it would be better if they did. They do have other spots with outlets available so it's definitely not the end of the world.
Overall, I come here a lot & enjoy my time. Just know if you stay for a long period of time your pockets will feel it lol
Very nice place, Very spacious & classy, surprisingly quite, good pastries, coffee
A absolute must visit in Montreal.
ambiance, food, & service is next to none.
Roman style pizza is one of the hardest concepts to perfect & these guys have it figured out. Beautiful display of roman style pizzas to choose from.
The dough was perfectly light, with just the right amount of toppings.
after pizza, dont miss the pastries. their chef team creates so many unique croissant options. lovely selection & i will be back to try more.
love this place. thank you for what you do
Lobby itself is it's own experience not the mention the actual seating area. The plants are all fake, but they add such a nice ambience. The food is AMAZING. The pastries are beautiful & the staff are super polite. To note, the seating by the cafe is not for working, but there is seating inside the building, exterior to the cafe where you can bring your food & study.
Loved the place, the food was excellent & very tasty. You can tell that they use very good quality ingredients. The place looks amazing, & I felt relaxed & enjoyed the atmosphere. The service was a bit long when we went there, around 1 pm, but the very friendly & kind staff were amazing. They took the time to explain the menu & even gave recommendations. & the pastries....lord have mercy! Will come back for more that's for sure.
Overall, fresh food & ingredients, amazing pastries, & an awesome atmosphere. Recommend the place & I will come back. Thank you for the nice meal. 😁
Loved this cafe - came here on my last day in Montreal & was super chilled out. Good coffee & a selection of tasty pastries. Nice decor. Recommend
I love the pastries! The staff is always super nice! I love the atmosphere too. You can come for a quick meal but you can also come to do some work. Not too quiet, not too loud. Definitely recommend!
This is a great'jewel' of a place to visit. Not directly on the street so you need to walk through the lobby. It has a great atrium & an abundance of unique seating zones. A great place to hang out with a great cup of coffee or 2! The pastries were great. A wonderful mix of people from students, to young professionals, to the seasoned wise! This was a great experience!
Really nice atmosphere in downtown Montréal, enjoyed the café & the pastries!!!
Lovely place to hang out for a while, I saw a lot of people working there, finding a free table is a little bit tricky, we had a slice of pizza & some pastries, they were all very good, beautiful building & atmosphere. One of the many Cafés in montreal worth the visit
Nice place, but they forgot our order. Brunch food didn't taste good, pastries were okay. My fiancés eggs were undercooked. Disappointing as the ambience is great, but I highly suggest to only have coffee & sweets & not the food..
Love their matcha, pastries, chia seed pudding, & minestrone soup. It would be great to see more plant based lunch options
