It gets a bit noisy during the peak time but I still enjoyed the lively ambiance & the'healthy yet delicious' menu. Service was a bit sluggish (30min+ wait), but the complimentary cannoli was a classy touch that made up for the delay. Overall, a solid spot worth returning to.
Good food & a great vibe. The only downside is the coffee.
If you order from the brunch menu, be aware that they serve the coffee immediately after you order, but the food arrives much later, which means your coffee gets cold before you can enjoy it with your meal.
mea Café is one of those polished, design-forward café-restaurants that leans more toward a'high-end cafeteria' than a traditional coffee shop. Located inside the historic Maison Alcan, the space is a standout: large, bright, with high ceilings & a refined, almost architectural feel.
The food is Mediterranean-inspired, with a menu that goes beyond pastries-Roman-style pizzas, salads, vegetable dishes, & brunch plates. Execution is generally strong, with good ingredient quality & clean presentation. Pastries & desserts are a highlight, although consistency can vary depending on the item.
Service is casual (order at the counter, food brought to table), & the place is clearly optimized for a mix of use cases: quick lunch, informal meetings, or working sessions.
Large, open area. We went for brunch on the Saturday of Easter weekend so it was busy. Our group of four sat at a long table with other groups. You order at the counter, then pick up your coffee when it's ready & food is brought out to you. Cashier was friendly. We ordered the vegan Caesar salad, chicken pesto sandwich, prosciutto caprese sandwich & the cheese pizza. We all enjoyed our food. The side salad with the sandwiches was very tasty - loved the vinaigrette & the fresh ingredients. The pesto in the chicken sandwich did not have much basil taste but overall the sandwich was delicious. We will return every time we visit Montreal.
I had a nice experience at this cafe. All the desserts & brunch options felt very fresh & had a nice creative touch to them, which I appreciated. It's a solid spot if you're looking for something a bit different than your usual cafe menu. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.
Absolutely beautiful decor, the coffee was great, & the ambiance was very nice! I went there to study with a friend & have no complaints. They do have signs saying no laptops on the main table between 12-2pm, but even during that time there are other spots that you can sit at if you want to continue working.
I will definitely be coming back to try out their brunch menu!
+ The bathrooms are GORGEOUS & very well kept

Coups de coeur New york roll un délice
We went to Amea Cafe for brunch but they only serve it on Sundays. It was a good breakfast anyway.
We ordered Bostock Pistachio with Rhubarb & Strawberries. We also ordered Shakshuka & a Supreme breakfast sandwich. The café latte were really good. The ambiance was nice, it's a huge place.
A superb place for a lunch or brunch. The food is delicious & the place is so beautiful
Came here for brunch & had a wonderful avocado & mushroom crostini. Was not too busy despite coming on a Saturday at 10:30. The decor & vibes were beautiful to enjoy with company or to study. Definitely worth your time to check out if you are in the area.
Superb place to grab breakfast, lunch or brunch, as well as a really neat co-working or study spot. Just be mindful of areas where you cannot have your laptop open so as to keep space available for eating clients.
The space is also available for renting for events!
