Loved for its vibrant and animated vibe, its diversity and all the activities it offers, downtown Montreal has plenty of resources for a good time. Check out this list of our favourite downtown restaurants, there is something for everyone and for all occasions!
Fiorellino
Fiorellino offers an authentic Italian experience for all occasions. Their warm and modern décor as well as the delicious food they serve will charm you. Treat yourself to pasta, pizza or to their antipastos that offer something a little more creative.
Campo
Campo is Ferreira Group’s Portuguese cuisine restaurant. You can comfortably have a seat in their small dining room or have your meal to go. The service is fast and friendly. Enjoy classic Portuguese chicken with a generous portion of fries or have it in a poutine or a Caesar salad.
Henri Brasserie Française
The Henri is the brand new restaurant inside the magnificent Birks Jewellery on Sainte-Catherine Street. The décor, by the designer Zébulon Perron, offers luxury and splendour. This is the ideal place for a gourmet meal that is accessible, while offering a unique culinary experience. Try it at any time of the day, according to your convenience!
Ryú
Now with several locations, Ryú has made its mark regarding quality Japanese cuisine in Montreal. Their downtown location works perfectly for a business lunch or a romantic dinner. Their upscale cuisine will charm you, especially if love sushi. They use high quality products and their fish are of an incomparable freshness.
Taverne F
Taverne F is another Ferreira Group restaurant. We added it to this list because their magnificent terrace allows you to be in the perfect spot to watch the shows taking place at Place des Arts during the summer. On the menu, there are petiscos, small Portuguese style tapas, which you can share. Their cuisine is rather traditional, but still has touch of modernity and creativity.
Cadet
You have probably heard of Bouillon Bilk, the famous gourmet restaurant located on Saint-Laurent. Well, not far from there, the same owners have opened the Cadet Restaurant, which is more affordable and accessible than the Bouillon Bilk, without losing any charm or quality. They serve a creative and delicious cuisine, which can be enjoyed for a hearty meal as much as for nibbling, with one of their very good glasses of wine!
Escondite
You will fall under the charm of the festive and warm atmosphere of Escondite, as well as their delicious Mexican food that takes you on a journey. Tequila is the star of the cocktail menu, because as you may know, it comes from Mexico. Their menu is perfect for sharing and you will be delighted to find that a vast selection of tacos is offered.

Located near Place des Arts, the Garde-Partagée is the very cute and inviting restaurant from the owners of Pot Masson. The atmosphere is friendly, and the dishes served are composed of fresh, seasonal ingredients that you should share so you do not keep all the fun for yourself!
Brasserie T!
Like the Taverne F, the Brasserie T is in the heart of where all the shows take place at La Place des Arts during the festival season. This restaurant could be described as a more accessible version of the famous Le Toqué restaurant. It serves a perfectly mastered, comforting, bistro style cuisine. The products used are fresh and you’ll find some homemade dishes such as cold cuts on the menu.
Koa Lua
The Koa Lua brings a little bit of sunshine to our everyday lives; it's where you can enjoy typical Hawaiian dishes, without having to travel far! Their exotic cuisine will warm your heart and fill your stomach. Try one of their delicious poke bowls while enjoying the exotic decor.
