What did the RestoMontréal team discover in August 2025?

This past month, our media invitations brought us to innovative restaurants, exclusive events, and vibrant festivals that continue to shape Montreal's culinary landscape. Each outing is a team effort: Chandni brings the experiences to life through engaging visuals on our social platforms, while Dalia focuses on hospitality and service, often stepping in front of the camera in our reels. Together, their perspectives complement each other, allowing us to share not just the food, but the atmosphere, the people, and the stories behind every place we visit.

We're deeply grateful to the restaurants, agencies, and partners who welcome us with open arms. These collaborations fuel our passion for exploration and reflect the creativity and vitality of Montreal's scene. We can't wait to keep sharing these discoveries with you, so follow us on RestoMontréal's Instagram to join the journey.

Dalia and Chandni were searching for a cozy café to work from when they stumbled upon Onna Café, a charming hidden gem downtown. With large windows filling the space with natural light, it offered the perfect inviting atmosphere to get work done. They ordered the Onna Salad with chicken, fresh and healthy enough to fuel their work session. This was Dalia's first time trying Afghan cuisine at Khyber Pass, while it was Chandni's third, and it certainly won't be their last. Tucked in the Plateau, this charming spot has a cozy terrace with a peaceful zen vibe and an indoor dining room adorned with authentic Afghan décor. Every dish was bursting with flavour from rich Afghan spices, and the portions were generous for the price. Being a BYOW only adds to its charm, making it the perfect place to bring a bottle and enjoy this hidden gem.

Invitation from @THEMOSTTRUSTED for a collaboration

Date: August 6th, 2025

Hidden in the industrial area of Ahuntsic, Brama is a true gem, drawing in crowds of locals even on a weekday. Dalia and Chandni had an incredible evening, made even better by their amazing waitress Heidi, whose attentive service and thoughtful recommendations stood out. They started with polpettes that tasted like nonna's cooking and a fresh burrata salad with tomatoes and pear, before moving on to the star of the night: the Mortadella pizza, baked to perfection with big chunks of pistachio. Though not usually cheesecake fans, they were won over by Brama's pistachio version, and the oversized cannoli was so good they brought one home to share. With dishes crafted by Chef John, whose passion shines through every plate, Brama is well worth the detour.

Celebratory dinner

Date: August 16th, 2025

Dalia returned to Asteur with her husband to celebrate their wedding anniversary, and just like her first visit in June with Chandni, it did not disappoint. From start to finish, the service was exceptional, with each plate presented as a work of art, both visually stunning and full of perfectly balanced flavours. Chef Olivier's storytelling added a playful, charming touch to the evening, and they were even lucky enough to be visited by him twice during the meal. For Dalia, Asteur is undeniably Michelin star worthy and an absolute must-visit.

Les Rendez-vous Gourmands

Invitation de Bombardier Communications

Date: August 21st

Dalia visited Les Rendez-vous Gourmands at Parc Jean-Drapeau, where Les Jardins des Floralies hosted a vibrant open-air culinary festival showcasing local restaurants and chefs. She savoured dishes from Oncle Lee and Pan Américan Pizza while enjoying the lively atmosphere. The breathtaking Mosaïcultures sculptures at the garden's entrance set the tone for an unforgettable evening. She ended the night with Latin music on the Casino de Montréal's terrace and a Tres Marias ice cream from La Michoacana MTL, a sweet moment that felt like a trip to Mexico. With cooking workshops and live performances, this is truly an event worth attending.

New Discovery

Date: August 22nd

One Friday night, Dalia and her husband drove from Laval to Little Italy after being tempted by Bar Mamie's charm on Instagram. A short wait later, they settled on the terrace, which instantly transported them to Montmartre with its cozy wine bar ambiance and chalkboard menu. They started with orange wine, sipping slowly while people-watching, before sharing a few flavourful dishes. Spotting the charcuterie boards at nearby tables, they knew they'd be back soon to try one for themselves. A few days later, thanks to Dalia's recommendation, Chandni also enjoyed dinner on the terrace, surrounded by chatter, generous platters, and a sunset that painted the sky pink and purple. With warm service, vibrant energy, and a European charm, Bar Mamie proved to be the perfect place to savour good food and the sweet life.

Invitation from Tök Communications for a collaboration

Date: August 26th, 2025

After being away for two weeks, Chandni was quickly reminded of how good Montreal's food scene is with a visit to VinVinVin. She and Dalia found the spot both trendy and charming, with friendly vibes and locals filling the restaurant even on a random Tuesday. The dishes they shared were excellent, and Dalia especially loved discovering her very first piquette. Their waiter suggested the perfect wine pairing, and with such a wide selection, there's truly something for every palate. Highlights of the evening included the heirloom tomato salad, trout ceviche, duck breast, shrimp and caviar cannelloni, and a decadent tahini and caramel cake. Just minutes from Beaubien metro, VinVinVin is a must for a cozy and memorable night out.
