The holiday season will come to life on Mont-Royal Avenue starting December 6th, 2025 as Mon Beau Sapin returns to kick off the festivities. At Place des Fleurs-de-Macadam, a striking twelve-foot wooden Christmas tree will set the stage for carols, traditional music, lively dancing and enchanting characters that will delight both residents and visitors.
From 3pm to 5:30pm, the community will be encouraged to donate non-perishable food or money in support of local food security organizations. In return, participants will receive one of the 250 ornaments created by artist Simon L'Archevêque. With every ornament removed, the tree will shine brighter until it is fully illuminated, symbolizing the generosity of the season.
Les Voix Ferrées, La Chasse-Balcon and whimsical figures including the friendly giant Martin Paquette, the travelling bear and the cheerful Mrs. Claus will bring joy to the celebration and create magical moments for all ages.
The event also unveils Un brin d'soleil, a new large-scale light installation designed by EN TEMPS ET LIEU. Suspended above the square, the artwork will glow with shifting colours that capture the emotions of winter and the promise of brighter days ahead.
Festivities will continue until December 24th at parc des Compagnons-de-Saint-Laurent where Noël dans le parc will feature a Santa Claus visit, a wish tree, a St-Nicholas house for photos and cozy moments around a campfire with marshmallows. The avenue will also sparkle with its holiday window display competition, open to online voting beginning December 12th.
Mon Beau Sapin is presented by Caisse Desjardins du Plateau-Mont-Royal.
