If I could give more than 5 stars I would, the food was spectacular & for someone who doesn't typically like sashimi this was by far my fave.. super fresh & not fishy! The sushi was excellent my favourite one was the wagyu but all of them were top tier. The service was great as well, my glass of water was always full & my cocktail (iced honey) was delicious & constantly replenished. The waiter was super kind & the director Karine was such a pleasure to talk to, you can tell that this place is run with not only class but love. I would definitely recommend this place for a casual evening or a big bash.
Amazing vibe!! Modern take on 70's retro style, super comfortable seating, elegant & fancy decor starting with the entry ! Went with my sister , perfect spot to catch up with friends or just have an intimate dinner with a loved one. The staff were very friendly & professional, always asking about allergies & any special request. As the waiter would bring you the food to the table, they would present to you your order with detailed ingredients. We started with truffle sauces grilled edamame with peach spritz & peach margarita. We then ordered Yubari signature maki, with Yugen, Kinsugi & Ora King salmon sashimi. Everything tasted as amazing as it looked! I already recommended this place to my friends! Will definitely come back again! Thank you so much for the service!
The food here is incredible the fish is so fresh & the plating is stunning so beautiful & tasty. I would recommend the sashimi bowls & that beef tataki! The decor & ambiance is also so amazing & viby great photo opportunities. Also the waiter Brian is so fantastic at what he does he's really a gem. & Karine the general manager is the sweetest & cares about the client's needs. The team here is solid not to mention the head bartender is fantastic & creates the most fabulous drinks!
In short, we paid for 3 set menus but only got 2 incomplete menus that were delayed in service. While Yubari presents a promising array of Japanese cuisine, my recent visit during Grand Prix weekend left me with mixed feelings. The dishes, primarily Japanese fare, displayed culinary finesse & premium ingredients, but the portions served did not justify the price paid. Adding to the disappointment, the service failed to meet expectations, particularly evident in the delayed arrival of the sashimi platter, an essential element of any Japanese dining experience. Despite our patience, the platter arrived an hour & a half after being seated, & it only catered to two individuals despite our larger party. This logistical oversight necessitated repeated reminders about the missing items from the set menu to our server, disrupting the meal's flow & diminishing overall enjoyment. Furthermore, the fact that we had pre-paid for a set menu upon booking only added to our dissatisfaction. Despite the upfront payment, we felt we overpaid for the amount & quality of food provided. The delayed service of the sashimi platter, a key component of the set menu, further accentuated this sense of dissatisfaction.
I came here twice when I was working in Montreal, as I was staying in the hotel that shares the same building. Both times I sat at the bar. The first time was on a Monday evening & it was just ok. I had the slider, sashimi yellow & yellowtail roll. Slider was not that great, sushi was ok, nothing to write home about. I then came on a Wednesday & everything was so much better. Service & food were both amazing, my water was constantly being refilled like clockwork. The dumplings, baos buns & chocolate yuzu were to die for & my sushi roll was much better this time round. They also make a great espresso martini as well. Will definitely remember this meal & will be back again, next time I am in town.
Absolutely must-try! I dined at YUBARI last week, & it was an unforgettable experience. Opened just last March, this gem has quickly become a standout in the dining scene. The ambiance is elegant & welcoming, perfect for a special evening. The menu is a delightful blend of traditional & modern flavors, with every dish beautifully presented & bursting with taste. The sushi & sashimi were incredibly fresh, & the signature dishes left a lasting impression. Exceptional service & attention to detail made the evening even more enjoyable. Highly recommend YUBARI for anyone looking for an extraordinary dining experience! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Seems like it's hard to be impressed with a sushi place these days. But Yubari exceeded our expectations. Everything ordered for the table was delicious & mouthwatering. Salmon sashimi literally melted in the mouth, never have tried such salmon before. Maki had unique taste which is certainly different from many other places. The dessert was also very good, we took a chocolate one & it tasted like Ferrero Roche in a cake but even better. Definitely this will be my go to sushi/Japanese food place, though it's pricey. The only thing we didn't like that night was the service, waitresses were trying to take out plates even before we finished eating. That definitely was hasty & too much. Hope they'll change it given the place is still very new. But the ambience, music & food are enjoyable making you want to come back.
