There are legendary experiences in Montreal, you just have to explore, this place was like an orgasmic experience, we tried two maki options & the Ceviche. it definitely made up for the now deleted from memory (La Banquise) failure we had earlier this week!
New edits - updated ratings
Appreciate the restaurant owner/team for taking the time to respond to my review professionally & respectfully. I do want to acknowledge that the restaurant handled the feedback well & showed that they care about customer satisfaction.

I ordered takeout from this restaurant, so my rating is really based only on the food itself & not the presentation, atmosphere, or dine-in experience. I do want to mention though that the service staff were very friendly & polite during pickup.
I ordered two items: the Yubari salad & the Unaguro maki roll.
The Unaguro roll tasted good, but not exceptionally memorable, especially considering the price. I also noticed that what I received did not fully match the description on the restaurant's website. The menu mentioned pickled carrots & sprouts, but I only saw cucumbers in the roll instead of picketed carrot & could not find any sprouts at all. Because of that, & factoring in the price point, I would personally rate this item around 4 stars on its own.
The bigger issue for me was the Yubari salad. It tasted quite salty even before I added the dressing that came with it. After trying just a small amount of the dressing, the salad became even saltier & was honestly too salty for my taste. I'm not sure if the saltiness came from the vegetable preparation process, such as salting the cucumbers to draw out moisture, but the overall result was much saltier than I expected.
Taking both items together into consideration, I think I can only give the food an overall 3-star experience from the food alone itself.
I was highly impressed! Honestly, above my expectations. The service was amazing, & they even helped us find a table that perfectly suited our needs even though it was Friday evening.
The food was incredible. Literally everything we tried was delicious. My favorite were the wagyu maki topped with foie gras - absolutely unforgettable.
Beautiful & creative design, ambient lighting, good music, & a great location. I would definitely come back:)
A beautiful space located inside the St Paul hotel on the edge of Old Montreal.
Great selection of food & cocktails- be prepared for the prices as they can be a bit of a sticker shock (my husband's cocktail was $40 but was unique & he said it was amazing) & mine was also delicious.
Server was really helpful, she explained every dish that came out. Our highlights were the ceviche & the scallop foie gras maki roll.
A fantastic experience- reservations are suggested as the restaurant filled up quickly.
This Japanese restaurant offers an excellent dining experience overall. The food was outstanding - the lobster pasta was honestly one of the best I've ever had, the maki selection was delicious, & the drinks were equally impressive. The space itself is beautiful & creates a great atmosphere for a night out.
However, service felt slightly uneven during our visit. We were celebrating a birthday, & while expectations don't need to be extravagant, nothing was acknowledged or offered, which felt like a missed opportunity in a restaurant of this level.
Additionally, one of the manager appeared to focus most of their attention on what seemed to be VIP guests, spending a large portion of the evening conversing with one table at the bar next to our table & could only hear their conversation the whole time.
That said, the quality of the food & ambiance remain exceptional, & with more consistent attention to all guests, the overall experience could truly match the level of the cuisine.
Amazing decor of the place & even more delicious food . Pretty much tried all the makis
