This Japanese restaurant offers an excellent dining experience overall. The food was outstanding - the lobster pasta was honestly one of the best I've ever had, the maki selection was delicious, & the drinks were equally impressive. The space itself is beautiful & creates a great atmosphere for a night out.
However, service felt slightly uneven during our visit. We were celebrating a birthday, & while expectations don't need to be extravagant, nothing was acknowledged or offered, which felt like a missed opportunity in a restaurant of this level.
Additionally, one of the manager appeared to focus most of their attention on what seemed to be VIP guests, spending a large portion of the evening conversing with one table at the bar next to our table & could only hear their conversation the whole time.
That said, the quality of the food & ambiance remain exceptional, & with more consistent attention to all guests, the overall experience could truly match the level of the cuisine.
Disappointed! The food did not live up to the quality of the venue or the prices on the menu. The mocktail selection was very limited with only three options, & the dessert menu was also quite restricted. Our server pressured us to order more, which made us uncomfortable. I was celebrating my birthday & had requested a candle on my dessert both when reserving & when ordering, but this was forgotten & I had to ask again. Overall, I expected much more from a place like this.
Beautiful restaurant, amazing service, there's a coat check & the waiters are super nice. Went to try out the Yubari blue for two. I was initially in awe as the presentation was beautiful & the food looked amazing. I was happy to find fish that isn't common to see in sushi places in Montreal like otoro & chutoro which are some of my favorites. The crab roll was our favorite!! The mackerel sashimi had a bit of a bloody taste but everything else was great. Best quality I've had yet in Montreal sushi places, the uni was the best I've had including my Japan trip!!! My only complaint is that I felt the Yubari blue was way too rich, there were lots of fatty fishes & almost nothing to balance it out. This made us feel a bit sick right after the meal but fine the day after. Overall food quality is unmatched, the restaurant is beautiful, flavors are good, everything is great.
The quality of food was amazing.
Me & my friend order'Yubari Blue', & it was great portion for two people. Cocktail was okay as well.
I think there is room for improvement in service-wise.
Me & my friend spent a lovely dinner at Yubari. The quality of the food is extraordinary. Strongly recommend the Yubari blue...fresh fish getting delivered in 3 days from Japan...hard to beat. But the experience was even better thanks to Alexia, a lovely waitress that really took care of every little things. Thank you !!! See you real soon !!!
Yubari is a beautiful restaurant with a calm, inviting interior, & the service is truly top notch. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to the atmosphere. The sushi was underwhelming & even made me feel a little unwell afterward, though the other appetizers were fine. Overall, while the setting & service are excellent, the quality of the sushi does not justify the high prices.
Yubari is an excellent choice for anyone looking for high-quality food, a great ambiance, & outstanding service. The staff are friendly, helpful, & consistently go out of their way to assist when needed. The menu offers a strong variety of Asian fusion options, including fresh sushi, meat dishes, & standout appetizers.
Highly recommend for anyone looking for a great spot to enjoy good food, good service, & a fun time with friends.
Yubari has an incredible ambiance. Stylish yet comfortable, perfect for both casual lunches & special occasions. The staff are amazing: super welcoming, attentive, & genuinely kind, which makes the whole experience even better.
The lunch special is absolutely worth it! Great value & delicious quality that really stands out. Every dish is fresh, flavorful, & beautifully presented.
If you're looking for good sushi & a place that truly delivers on both food & atmosphere, Yubari is definitely a spot you need to try!
The fish quality here is amazing. All we had was nigiri. The chef's specials are amazing, I was given flambe'd waygu as one of the cheff's choices, which was good, & would say the fish options were 100x better, those was amazing. I did have an allergy & one of the staff was kind, just didn't check wifh the chef's on ingredients (it had been mislabeled on the menu). Luckily another staff member did verify for me, & fixed it, which is comforting. We got the special cheesecake for dessert, & they brought it out with a sparkeler which was nice. We ended up staying quite some time, & as the night progressed the rice did get more as the fish got less on the nigiri, which was dissapointing. I will be coming here again!
This sushi spot is amazing, & the chef is the real star of the experience. Every piece is made with so much care & attention to detail-you can really taste the freshness & quality in every bite. The chef, Marcelo, clearly loves what he does, & it shows in the way he curates the dishes. Dining here feels special, yet warm & inviting, all thanks to the chef's talent & heart.
