This was our second time back at Yubari.. there was a little mishap our first visit but we were offered to come back for a second try…. & what an amazing choice that was. Some of the best sushi in all of Montreal. Anyone coming to visit Montreal & is craving sushi this has to be at the top of the list. Thank you Yubari for an amazing dinner & a special thanks to our server/manager Taryn. We will DEFINITELY be back !
Samedi le 4 avril à 21h-21h30, mes amies & moi nous nous sommes dirigées vers le restaurant. Cependant, à notre grande surprise, l'accueil & la politesse n'étaient pas au rdv… nous avons eu un accueil désagréable dès notre arrivée. Avant même que nous ayons pu parler avec la jeune femme à l'accueil, elle nous a fait signe de « non » avec la tête. Son comportement était irrespectueux, & elle n'a même pas été capable de nous accueillir avec un simple « bonsoir »…
Une attitude hautaine sans aucune raison. Elle n'avait pas de manière polie pour nous dire qu'il avait pas de place dans le restaurant.
Une hôtesse c'est sensé être chaleureuse & agréable.

Very good quality & great vibes overall. I've been there many times for lunch & also dinner. Lunch service (menu) is fast & offers great value, dinner has a really nice atmosphere..

Amazing Amazing Amazing!!! Not 1 bad comment to say about Yubari. From the cocktails, to the sushi & that beef rib!!! LAWD!!! Absolutely fantastic hidden gem. Alexia was amazing from the time we walked in, she had to biggest smile & gave an amazing service. 10/10

The food is always amazing, however, the service was awful. My friends & I had a reservation yet were only seated an hour after. With having a reservation this should not happen, it's un professional. They overbooked completely. Not only was my table waiting but every table before & after us. The receptionist was also rude & not helpful. I wouldn't go back for this specific reason.
Restaurant is so beautiful inside, & the food & cocktails were amazing. I got a p⭐? martini & it was 10/10. But the only thing was that we had to wait over an hour to be seated. We had a reservation for 9pm & we were only seated at 10:13. Usually when restaurants make u wait a while when u had a reservation they accommodate you with some free drinks or maybe even finger food to eat but we ended up just waiting the whole hour without no one updating us at all.
The sushi was very good! The fish tasted fresh & the quality was very good. The decor is also very pretty & dark & the atmosphere created by the dj was nice! The service was also great our server Tarryn was very sweet.
High-end pricing for terrible service. Unless you are a certain race, they will not welcome you, let alone, wanna serve you. Ironic as this is a Japanese-themed restaurant, & we were the only asians lol.
Food was fresh & delicious & the atmosphere was warm & chic ! Cant go there looking crazy, definitely on the high end side. I love it if you want to eat good & treat yourself with a good time , also great for a date night with your partner , birthday dinner or special occasion. Dj plays good music as well 10/10!

Best sushi I have ever had by far, certainly in Montreal. Sashimi melts in your mouth. Stunning ambience, great bar. Overall an exceptional experience!
Yubari is a small Japanese restaurant tucked into the heart of the Old Port that delivers a surprisingly refined dining experience.
The first thing that stands out is the atmosphere. The space is compact, but the tables are thoughtfully arranged, which keeps the room from feeling crowded. The layout creates a comfortable flow where conversations remain intimate rather than drowned in noise. The low lighting adds warmth, & the presence of a live DJ gives the restaurant a subtle lounge energy without overpowering the dining experience.
The food is excellent. Each dish is carefully prepared & beautifully presented, with the kind of balance & precision you expect from a high-quality Japanese kitchen. The menu manages to feel both refined & approachable, making it easy to explore a few different plates.
Service is another highlight. The waiters & waitresses are attentive & genuinely helpful when it comes to recommendations. They guide you through the menu with confidence & enthusiasm, which makes the experience feel personal rather than transactional.
Overall, Yubari is a great spot if you are looking for excellent Japanese cuisine in a stylish but relaxed setting. The combination of outstanding food, thoughtful service, & a well-curated atmosphere makes it one of the more enjoyable dining experiences in the Old Port.
