I've been to several ramen restaurants &, although there is some pretty stiff competition, Yokato Yokabai still stands as the best place to get ramen in Montreal. They have not only the best ramen but also the best entrées & sides & they have great cocktails as well (Shiso Sour being my favourite). They also have, by far, the best pork & rice bowl (chashu don) out of all the ramen places. You could just order tapas & still come out of it with a great experience. The menu is that good. This is also the place where I had plum wine for the first time & I've been in love ever since. I've lost count of the amount of times me & my best friend have been here. Yokato Yakabai is, quite literally, the best.
Ma place préféré pour des Ramens. Leur entré de poulet pané est INSANE
Very good ramen. Unfortunately, both our broths were not hot, which is essential for ramen.
Tiny place, big taste. I don't think I've ever had such rich broth in ramen before-absolutely delicious. The eggs were perfectly cooked, & the pork was tender. This is one of the best ramen spots I've tried in Montreal. The place is tiny, though, so be prepared to squeeze into your seat!
I was in NYC this past weekend, i ate at Momofuku. Your ramen KICKS THEIR'S IN THE ASS SO HARD!!! So hard. Thanks for making me proud to be a Montreal cook, guys.
Best Ramen in Montreal, just they not accept appoint, first come first serve
Good ramen in Montreal. I tried this place out during a 2 day stint in the city due to its' high amount of reviews & I was happy with the option. The broth was solid, along with pretty delicious noodles that tasted very fresh. The meat was good as well. I didn't really like the spoon situation as drinking the broth at our tiny 2 person booth was a little... like annoying. But it LoOkS tRaDiTiOnAl. Whatever. The chicken karaage was good too, but definitely not like a "must get." We should've gotten a small plate for me & my girlfriend because the chicken was loaded on the tiny plate & kept tipping over, with not a lot of chopstick power. Other than those tiny points, I would come back again to get my ramen fix in the city.
favourite ramen place in the plateau. The only problem is the long wait & the server not always friendly
Definitely one of the best (if not the best) Ramen in Montreal, their Tonkotsu broth is so addictive I highly recommend taking the thick noodles, they are really incredible in taste & texture I would eat there everyday if I could 🤩
Le building est très grand, mais comme il y a beaucoup de subdivisions, ça évite la cacophonie des grands espaces. Service parfait & amical, équipe jeune & dynamique. Nous avons pris des ramens personnalisés via le menu à cocher. Tout était délicieux!
Excellent ramen, better than some of what I've tried in Japan. What they're doing here is incredible. Waiting time can be 2 hrs or more so try to avoid peak hours. The thin noodles picked up the broth well & everything was just delicious. Very glad I came here!
La meilleure place de ramen que j'ai mangé. Le seul point négatif ses qu'il y a généralement une file d'attente.
Ramen was good, but it could be better. The sides are nice touch. Go early. It can get busy.
Very solid ramen spot that lives up to the ratings, but is definitely on the more expensive side. Got the tonkotsu ramen, regular saltiness, with chashu topping. Broth is thick, rich, meaty, not too salty or oily. I had thin noodles while my partner got thick. Thick is definitely the way to go but costs extra, which I find kind of annoying since I don't remember any other ramen shop that does the same. I've read some other reviews that mention the broth being a bit lukewarm, which I agree with, but it was still delicious regardless. Came on a weeknight ~8pm & had to wait 40min, but this the same with any other popular restaurant in the area anyway.
