Saturday 10 jan 13h. I don't believe this place should be a Michelin Recommended restaurant. There was no service at the entrance except a small ipad where you need to put your name & number to be on the waiting list. The guy that worked there ignored us & pass by us a few times but it was so clear that we were waiting to talk to someone. He simply pointed to the ipad & left. We finally got a SMS & went back where the same guy with the cap just never event looked at us so we needed to stop him & tell him we got an SMS. Cold & without any welcoming effort he sat us at the bar & left.
Next the girl behind the bar never welcomed us & passed in front of us without looking. Water came 5 min after & asked us if we were ready to order. No welcome, not a smile, cold & without care. We asked for sake & she didn't know much. So I asked for the sake menu & she gave it to me but warned us that there was nothing in stock exacept 2 or 3 little bottles of 300ml. Appetizer were below average. Karage Spicy was not spicy & WAY to much batter & the takoyaki was a puree of mush with seemed with no octupus.
Ramen took forever to come but once it arrived they were good but I had better in other restaurants.
Extra : I was in front of the beer tap & the glasses were not clean. I saw a waiter look at the glasses & noticed there were not clean but he served beer in them anyway.
That why I don't believe this place should be a Michelin Recommended Restaurant. You should feel welcomed in a restaurant & today it felt like we where a number & couldn't wait for the customers to leave so they could serve the next ones.
We waited about 45 minutes & their system said 0-15 minute wait time. It was well worth the wait as it had to have been the best bowl of ramen I've had in Montreal.
This is my favourite place for ramen in Montreal. The gomami broth is amazing. The only downside to this place is the extremely long wait since they don't take any reservations. We waited about 1 hour 40 min for it but it was worth it at the end
Adam truly made our experience at Yokato Yokabai Ramen! From the moment we arrived, he was kind, respectful, & genuinely welcoming. The type of service that immediately makes you feel comfortable & taken care of. If it weren't for Adam, the experience honestly wouldn't have been the same, & he is the main reason we're even taking the time to write this review. The food was excellent! We ordered two bowls of chicken ramen, edamame, Diet Cokes, & sake, & everything was delicious. Emmanuel was helpful as well, though his energy felt a bit more reserved & not as welcoming, which was slightly disappointing given how respectful we always are as guests. That said, Adam absolutely deserves recognition from management for his professionalism, warmth, & attitude. He represents the restaurant extremely well! We'll definitely remember the service he provided.
We went it on a really snowy day & it wasn't too much crowded but service & the ramen was pretty good. The server also surprised us with a couple of non alcoholic drinks.
On s'y attendait, encore ok.
T*bern guy.
Digne d'un Michelin? Michelin? Pense pas non!
The ramen is absolutely delicious! Definitely will return here the next time we visit Montreal. If you have trouble getting a seat, you can try to walk around the corner to the restaurant entrance. One side is focused just on serving ramen it seems & the other side serves larger menu with ramen still included.
would recommend, worth a try if you are ever in the area. Ramen soups is normally very salty but not in this case, totally drinkable, very savory, better than average for sure.
Karaage was a pleasant surprise, layers of flavor, I rate it higher than the ramen, maybe I just like fried chicken more in general.
Great ramen & appetizers. Good queueing system. Unfortunately no alcoholic drinks.
Excellent tonkotsu ramen. The broth is rich, creamy, & full of depth without being heavy
Will definitely be back.
Top 3 ramen for sure!!
Overall, we had a good experience. We ordered a sesame broth ramen with pork, & a pork broth ramen with chicken. The sesame ramen was incredible, but the pork-broth ramen was a bit disappointing (would not order it again). Also, the area where we were seated was very cold since the door with access to the entrance was always open.
Really poor experience.. food was super disappointing, atmosphere was uncomfortable, seating was unbearable (we had to hold our jackets while we eat…) & services was subpar (waited 15 minutes after being seated so we can have our order taken..). Avoid if you can. Neotokyo or Tori Ramen in Royalmount are significantly better options.
The food is great, but sitting at a table for more than 1 hour to get a ramen is a bit too much
