The interior evokes a youthful Japanese atmosphere. The sake & Japanese whiskey selections are particularly remarkable, & I've found my favorite far yeast white beer, smooth & aromatic. However, the restaurant's noticeable fishy odor was rather off-putting.
Food is so good service is also so good & atmosphere is also so good🤤🤤🤤🔥🔥🔥🔥
Really nice & cozy place. The food was fresh & tasty especially Takoyaki & salmon Uramaki. The staff were nice & welcoming.

Différent & tellement bonnnn
Merci beaucoup
I've been ordering since 4 years at Yen, & I even told my friends & family about it because the food was amazing, well presented, & the ambiance really nice. 90% of the time I was happy with the service & the food.
That's until recently, I've ordered take out & was disappointed at the tiny amount of fish.
There was literally 30g of fish (3 half bites) I could barely notice it was in there). When I used to order there was a good 100-130g, enough to feel like it was a lot. Like I used to feel delighted at how it was delicious & good value. Now it felt like eating 24$ bowl of rice with veggies 😢😢 I don't know if it was the chef but I'm scared to come back if this is the new standard.
Yen Cuisine is an absolute gem for sushi lovers in Montreal! The freshness of the fish is top-tier, & the presentation is stunning. Every bite feels like a work of art, especially their signature rolls!
Nice place & nothing wrong with the food or service. It just didn't stand out as something I'd splurge on in the future (value for money).
The food was amazing, we had sushi, edamames, & a bowl. All delicious 🤤🫶🏻. I would improve a lil the service. But in general I like this restaurant
The food was delicious! The portions were a good size too, I've had poke before where there's almost no salmon but that was not the case here. The ambiance was very nice too, kind of felt like being transported to another place with the well decorated interior.
I'm calling this the best Japanese ricebowl I've had in canada yet to date. Perfectly cooked & seasoned forie gras & unagi, extremely flavorful sauce all make the perfect dish
The food is mediocre. I ordered the Tenzaru Soba. Except the shrimp, rest of the tempura are not crispy at all. Will not recommend.
La nourriture est tres Bonne. La serve use s'assurait que tout est correct tout au long de notre souper. C'est un peu dispendieux mais pour essayer ca vait la peine.
Awful quality sushi rice + mediocre quality fish cuts = very underwhelming
The tempura that we ordered was not even crispy (beside the shrimp, which makes us wonder if the shrimp was semi-precooked unlike the other vegetables, you can clearly see that the batter used are different)
The platting may seem nice but would not recommend.
Really great experience overall. The chef & co are fantastic, the food is phenomenal, & the decor is aesthetic & authentic. My favourite sushi joint in Montreal!
