I Loved the decoration with old Japanese magazines & the ambient is cozy & warm. The service staff are kind too. The food is good & portions medium-big.
A hidden gem in Montreal. The sushi is incredibly fresh & flavorful, offering great value for the price. The atmosphere is very cozy & the staff is super helpful. This is my go-to for authentic Japanese food.
A restaurant that works for every occasion - from a quick lunch to a more elevated dinner, from casual gatherings to a date night. After exploring countless Japanese restaurants across Montreal, this one stands out as a true hidden gem.
i like it a lot there… makes me nostalgic about my last trip to Japan. Authentic japanese cuisine & culture ❤?🙏🏻
Omg this place has the most fine & yummy dishes. Been there twice & will come back to taste them all! Sophisticated japanese cuisine at its finest.
Only once i got pissed because they served us the entrées along with the main dish even though i had specifically asked not to. But I guess this is also something used to happen in Canada..
It happens to me a LOT in this country lol
But the second time i ve been there they were amazing on the service, so its all forgiven!
Loved our visit to YEN Cuisine Japonaise! Fresh, flavorful dishes with a modern twist & such a lively, youthful energy. Great spot to enjoy delicious Japanese cuisine with friends!
It's my new favorite spot for an affordable Japanese place in Montreal. But, the service was just okay on a Saturday night, & it wasn't even that busy.
It was my second time visiting this sushi place. Loved it as usual. I'd rate it as the top few Japanese sushi places in Montreal among those I've been to. Every dish (those shown in the pics) was yummy. We ordered a few more (Toshikoshi soba, beef rice bowl & Kizuna Hotate Maki) which we forgot to take pics. They were also really delicious!

Absolutely exceptional experience at YEN Cuisine Japonaise! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was calm, elegant, & inviting. The service was warm & attentive without being intrusive - a perfect balance.
The food? Simply outstanding. Every dish was beautifully presented & packed with authentic Japanese flavor. The sushi was incredibly fresh, the ramen rich & flavorful, & the attention to detail in every bite was clear. You can tell they take real pride in their craft.
Whether you're a longtime fan of Japanese cuisine or trying it for the first time, YEN is a must-visit. A perfect blend of tradition & modern refinement. Highly recommend - we'll definitely be back!
The food at Yen Japanese Sushi was actually quite good - fresh & nicely prepared. However, the overall experience was a bit underwhelming.
The service wasn't great: staff seemed inattentive & not very welcoming. The atmosphere was also just okay - nothing particularly special or inviting.
I might return for the sushi, but definitely hope the service improves.
Very good & authentic Japanese restaurant. We had their recommended dishes which were delicious. If you're looking for a real Japanese experience downtown Montreal go there
Love the setting, had a great lunch, classic Japanese items that are not so common (ie: zaru soba). Welcoming & caring staff.
SO DELICIOUS! Great atmosphere, great service, great selection of japanese dishes. Everything tasted really fresh. I actually went back twice in the same week because it was so good.
Nice Japanese traditional restaurant. It is difficult to choose the favorite food when there is no idea about the proposed menu. Menu contains High quality basic ingredients
A nice little izakaya place with authentic & delicious Japanese bistro dishes. Their imported sake added a nice touch to the place.
Portions were generous. We ordered the sashimi platter, takoyaki, assorted tempura, & unagi don. I initially wanted a draft beer, but realized that the focus here is more on sake & whiskey. One suggestion: it would be great if they offered traditional tempura sauce instead of spicy mayo-especially if they're aiming to present themselves as an authentic Japanese restaurant. They were also out of uni, which was a bit disappointing. That said, the takoyaki & unagi don were great. Service from the staff was attentive, & I really enjoyed the overall ambiance of the interior.
A really beautiful Japanese restaurant. Food was delicious & service very good. Try the Niji Salad very tasty. Kudos for decoration!
