Rien a dire la-dessus! 2. 4. Le service est excellent!!
Loved the food here I worked here as well for sometime The kitchen followed all the food protocols, it was clean which is usually not the case i have seen Loved most of the sushi options , salmon miso soup My favorite was soba noodles with teriyaki, chicken.
Summary - can't recommend anyone to go here. I won't pitch a fit if someone else really wants to go here, but I won't elect to return on my own & I certainly could never put my name down next to a "you should go here" recommendation. Took a party of 9 (with reservation) on 26 AUG 2024 - we were stuffed into a table at the very back really intended for 8. It was exceptionally hot in the restaurant. They apologized & mentioned something about the AC I couldn't fully understand. In any case it was uncomfortable. We received sub-par service as well. Not sure if this because we were stuffed in the back & forgotten about or if they were just under staffed - doesn't really matter, the result was long intervals between server visits. Server got 90% of our orders correct - the remaining 10% were forgotten & required reminding. The salmon miso soup was great - super tasty & I'd be very happy to have that again. Everything else fell solidly into the average category at best. Nothing really outstanding. Sushi was average, tempura was average, karage was below average. Beer was canned rather than on tap, & they didn't have Asahi (it was on the menu, they were out). In a city with so many really great places to eat average isn't good enough - you'll be happier to go somewhere else.
first off the presentation of all the dishes was very impressive! I especially loved their sushi rolls. The soba scallop dish was disappointing & didn't reflect the menu picture as the scallop was thinly sliced which was misleading. I personally wasn't a fan of that dish but my friend did. went during lunch on a Monday so it wasn't that busy but the staff was speaking loudly which ruined the ambience. They were clearly overstaffed, 4 servers for four tables. I would go back for takeout for their sushi but not dine in...
Honestly, Yen sushi is my go-to place for sushi. I went there almost 8 times in the last year. It's never disappointing!!! The food is good, the staff are always friendly & fast to take orders.
I recently dined at Yen, & while my experience had its highlights, there were a few aspects that fell short of expectations. First & foremost, the food was fantastic. Each dish was meticulously prepared & bursting with flavor. From the fresh sushi to the sashimi, every bite was a testament to the chef's skill & dedication. The quality of the food alone would make me consider returning. The service was also commendable. The staff were attentive & courteous, going out of their way to help me figure out how to pay the parking fees-a gesture I greatly appreciated. Their willingness to assist with such a mundane task speaks volumes about their commitment to customer satisfaction. However, the environment left something to be desired. The noise level was quite high, largely due to the chatter from other patrons. This bustling atmosphere starkly contrasts with the serene & tranquil vibe typically associated with traditional Japanese restaurants. If you're looking for a quiet, intimate dining experience, this might not be the place for you. Another drawback was the behavior of one of the waiters. They seemed overly eager to clear the bill for the next table, which came across as somewhat pushy & detracted from the otherwise pleasant service. It wasn't a major issue, but it did leave a bit of a sour note on the overall experience. In summary, while Yen excels in food quality & generally good service, the noisy environment & the occasional pushiness of the staff might be off-putting for some. If you don't mind a lively atmosphere & are there primarily for the excellent food, it's still worth a visit.
One thing is certain, in this restaurant you get a good quality-price. The bowls are still generous too in portions but if you eat a lot you may need an appetizer. I wouldn't say it's the best sushi I ate. The rice lacked flavor, the fishes are all the cheapest cuts, etc. However, for the price I paid, this is very good. In Montreal, I'm happy about this find. I really enjoyed the ambiance too & the service was good. Overall, a good ratio for quality & price. With slightly more generous portions.
Ordered pick up, a party platter. Specifically asked for soy sauce at the counter. Got home & NO SOY SAUCE! Needless to say that oversight ruined our dinner experience. Who can enjoy sushi with no soy sauce? From the reviews & my own experience this is a place that has issues with take away orders.
Best japanese food I've ever had! Their new sushis blew my mind away
Very good sushi à la carte, our favorite is Samon Foie Gras Uramaki. Fish is fresh, decor is nice & service is fast!
One of the finest sushi restaurants in the downtown area of Montréal. I’ve been about a dozen times & it never disappoints. Great service, amazing food & a pretty chill atmosphere. The takeout service is phenomenal as well. I highly recommend!
The place looked nice & the staff were friendly & prompt, but the food gave me nausea. I think the sauce on the tempura & sushi might have caused it. It was pretty expensive too.
Beautiful atmosphere & delicious sushi that leaves you craving for more! Highly recommend!
