My husband & I had an incredible dinner date at Umamia in Griffintown!! The ambiance is beautiful & perfect for a date night or special occasions.
We started with four appetizers: miso soup, salmon yakitori, chicken karaage, & salmon tartare. Everything was well-seasoned & perfectly balanced. The chicken karaage was incredibly crispy without being greasy, easily the best we've ever had thus far. The chicken karaage & salmon tartare come with nori chips, which were sooo soooo good!
We ordered the Experience Platter for 2 as our main meal & glad we did. The platter was well curated with a full spread of sushi & sashimi. Every single piece was fresh & delicious. We shared a pistachio cheesecake that's just sweet enough & the perfect ending to an amazing meal.
The staff were warm, attentive, & made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in.
Un de mes restos de sushi préféré à Montréal, les rouleaux sont originales & toujours bien balancés. Ils se soucient des détails & c'est ça qui fait la différence. L'ambiance est aussi super!
Sushis absolument délicieux - le sushi'Montréal' m'a fait pleurer! Saveurs surprenantes, belle présentation. Le bol était aussi excellent, avec une bonne combinaison de saveurs. Je recommande vivement!

Une expérience absolument fantastique. Tout était frais, délicieux & présenté avec un soin remarquable sur de grandes planches en bois.
La variété des sushis est impressionnante & chaque bouchée était parfaitement équilibrée. Mention spéciale pour le dessert au thé vert qui a conclu le repas en beauté. C'est une adresse incontournable pour les amateurs de cuisine japonaise.
I think this is the first time I ever write a review on a restaurant. I unfortunately feel like I have to warn people since the rating is good… It was terrible. The sushi was bad, the flavours were not cohesive & it didn't taste fresh. Our sushi platter stayed on the counter for over 20 minutes before it was served to us. Our entrees were cold & we got our drinks very late. The server was working hard & was alone so I don't blame him but the food was terrible & it cost $200 .
Umamia is the place to go if you are looking for some delicious yet fun sushi either the freshest fish! The service was superbe & our servers provided us the best recommendations (especially the OFF the menu pistachio cheesecake which my highlights of the night hehe). I have nothing bad to say about Umamia, so I definitely recommend to check it out with some friends. FYI: It is a must to try anything eel!
Un véritable coup de coeur ! Ce restaurant offre un cadre convivial & chaleureux, parfait pour un repas entre amis ou en famille. Les ingrédients sont ultra-frais, les plats sont préparés avec une vraie passion & servis avec beaucoup d'amour.
Chaque bouchée respire l'authenticité & le savoir-faire. Que ce soit les sushis, les sashimis ou les plats chauds, tout est exceptionnel. On sent que le coeur y est, & ça fait toute la différence !
La nourriture est très bonne, les sushis sont frais & savoureux. Le service est correct.
Cependant, un détail m'a vraiment dérangé : un serveur faisait constamment un bruit de bouche, comme s'il avait quelque chose coincé entre les dents. C'était assez présent pour qu'on l'entende malgré la musique, ce qui a rendu le moment très désagréable.
