UMAMI RAMEN & IZAKAYA est donc le tout premier restaurant de ramens entièrement véganes à Montréal.
Grâce à l’importation d’une machine japonaise destinée à la fabrication des nouilles, l’établissement fabrique ses propres nouilles maisons à base de blé bio, en plus de fabriquer ses bouillons, ses tsukemono, son kombucha et ses germinations! Le restaurant propose plusieurs variétés de ramens et de petits classiques de la bistronomie japonaise en version végane. Que l’on pense à l’okonomiyaki, les gyozas, le tofu agedashi ou encore le tempeh tonkatsu, Cédric et sa brigade se font un plaisir de vous présenter tous les jours, de l’entrée au dessert, ces classiques japonais revisités… ainsi que quelques exclusivités sorties tout droit nos cuisines. Et qui dit izayaka dit bien entendu bières rafraîchissantes, vins somptueux, cocktails enivrants, sakés délicats et autres produits vinicoles fins. Chez Umami Ramen, on vit la gastronomie sans cruauté à son meilleur!

I feel clean & healthy even thought I eat late. The next morning I don't feel so bad. The food doesn't have strong taste, still delicious. Cocktails are so nice & the service is great. The atmosphere is good. The terrace has Japanese vibe.

The mapo tofu ramen was fantastic! Full of sichuan pepper flavors, with shungiku (chrisanthemum) & kimchi. I'm usually not a big fan of silk tofu but here it fit perfectly with the bowl. They also have a very nice collection of cocktails: I had the enoki negroni where the mushroom taste was a nice addition, & the grilling of enoki just before serving a fantastic idea. I know several heavy meat-eaters who love this vegan place. A restaurant extremely recommended for everyone!

My partner & I came for the tasting menu. I would give it a 3/5. Everything was very average. Although it looked aesthetic, the taste was often boring/bland. The best parts were the crepe + the dessert but everything else was something I wouldn't find worth ordering again (it needed more spice or even salt). My cocktail was also not that great. Service was slow but this typically the experience in montreal vs other large cities. It was my second time coming here. The first time I got the ramen & also wasn't the biggest fan of the type of noodle. After coming twice, I don't think it's on the top of my list to revisit. Although I will still make it out for their new gyoza location, as I would like to give it a try. Of course I recommend you to come yourself. This is my friends favourite vegan restaurant in town, but it hasn't hit the mark for me personally.

J'avais adoré le menu dégustation dans le passé. Cette fois-ci, j'ai choisi la Ramen au Miso non-épicée. Elle était bonne, mais trop riche & intense. Mon amie a adoré sa Ramen Tantanmen Épicée. L'ambiance est parfaite, service impeccable. J'y retournerai pour manger plutôt une panoplie d'entrées los de ma prochaine visite! Les cocktails sont bons & magnifiques!

L'attente pour commander & être servie est plutôt longue, même si on a réservé. Sinon les ramens que l'on as pris étaient trop riche en saveur, alors après quelque bouchées cela n'était plus agréable. Le reste était génial, service, ambiance. Nous avons vraiment aimé les cocktails, desserts, apéritifs ainsi que la présentation d'une grande beauté.

Just had the must amazing experience at this Montreal's bijoux! The Table d'hôte/ degustation menu is out of this world. Texture! Flavours! Generosity! Cocktails! Wine! What a discovery. The staff wow, wow, wow. They made of our special evening a SUPER special evening. The only con: we did not have a change to thank the kitchen team. So: BIG THANKS! ⭐️⭐️⭐️

food was incredible. Perfect sized portions for sharing. Cocktails are on the stronger side. Only downside is, it's a little cramped inside & the tables are small. But overall very pleased with the experience !

Small place but excellent. We are meat eaters but went because one of us has fish & seafood allergies. Took a while to receive main courses but a good portion to fill satisfy your appetite. Quite tasty & flavorful. Loved it, with a nice cocktail followed by a bottle of umeshu.

We had a really good evening dining here at the terrasse, the atmosphere was great & our waitress phenomenal.
It was my first time in a vegetarian restaurant & I really don't know much about Japanese food so with that in mind, I had absolutely no expectations when it comes to the food.
I had the Spicy Tantanmen Ramen with a Shiso Chuhai cocktail & my partner had a Curry Ramen with a Ghost Face cocktail, I wasn't much of a fan of the Tantanmen but tried my partner's plate & it was delicious. The cocktails were the highlight of the night, we both really enjoyed them.
Overall we had a great experience, I'll definitely come back again, when my wallet recovers.

Nous étions dans le jardin, une vraie merveille, même sous la pluie comme ça m'est arrivé une fois chez vous. C'est le seul restaurant que j'adore pour sa cuisine raffinée & ses cocktails uniques. Merci à toutes & tous & surtout à Cédric.
