Review Summary

Across numerous reviews, Tzatzi qui in Old Montreal is described as a warm, cozy Greek spot with a welcoming vibe that suits both casual dinners and celebrations. The food is often praised for being fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned, with favourites like dips and tzatziki, calamari, gyros, souvlaki, and moussaka highlighted. Service is consistently lauded for attentiveness and warmth, with bartenders and servers noted for good recommendations and friendly, seamless handling of groups. The atmosphere ranges from intimate and romantic to lively and social, with charming decor, soft lighting, and a patio that many guests enjoy. On some visits the food has fallen short for a few diners, with meat that was overcooked or dry, or dishes that did not meet expectations, and on busy nights reservations were recommended. Prices are generally fair for the quality and portions, though a handful of reviewers considered the value higher end for the area. Overall, the reviews present Tzatzi qui as a standout Greek option in the area with a strong emphasis on friendly service, a warm ambiance, and delicious, shareable plates that make many guests eager to return.

Very good food, recommend dip appetizer & shrimp skewers. Although chops were a bit tough & pricey. Amazing decor, would definitely go again!

As always, we try to sample as many items as we can. We started with Pikilia to share, which contained many of the entrées on the menu, all of which were impressively delicious. We also tried three of the five exquisite & well-seasoned dips. As a main course, we opted for the Souvlaki pitas (because our initial choice of moussaka was unfortunately unavailable). The meat was extremely tender, the sauce was excellent, & the pita was the most pillow-soft we've ever had. We also ordered the Jersey Shore fries purely for the name, but they were incredible too. We were tempted by desserts in the form of cheesecake & very enjoyable baklava. We expected the price to be a little on the high side given the location in the old port, but it was, in fact, a lot of food. We were pretty much full halfway through the appetizers. 😅 While the main courses were delightful, were we to return, we would try more entrées, dips, & salads, as they were the real stars of the show here.

Nice cozy restaurant with beautiful decor & tasty food & generous portions. Definitely recommend Fried Calamari We were a group of 10 so we had the menu fixe ($50 pp) which included platters of salad, mixed entrées (Pikilea) with pita & dip, main course (rice, fries & choice of brochettes) & dessert (sorry for the fuzzy photo, it was a still of a video) Drinks were also very good & generous on the alcohol, had the Rosé Sangria pitcher to share One of the members of our party is Greek & even they said the food was good.

Food was very tasty, service was very friendly & helpful in deciding what to order for our group. 4 stars since they advertised no where that they were not doing brunch at this time, & didn't mention that before seating us (which felt slightly underhanded). Also our reservation was put at 11, but was changed to 1130 without us knowing (assuming a reservation error), causing us to get there too early. The platters are definitely worth the value & would recommend with a group of people. However, the rice was a bit hard/undercooked & the octopus we ordered as an appetizer seemed overcooked & not well seasoned. I would stick with the skewers or pitas, & definitely order the dips, the red pepper one was the best! All I all, great service & tasty food, would recommend & hoping the other issues we ran into were a one time thing. Would definitely check if they are serving brunch beforehand.

Wonderful experience! The staff Jimmy & Marouane were so friendly. Jimmy made sure to continously check on us & both were so generous with their knowledge of Europe as my husband & I planned our vacation there over dinner. Food came very quickly & all was so good! We recommend the dip with the pepper!

We were walking by & noticed the wonderful decor & ambiance. We were greeted warmly & seated at the window overlooking a lovely little square. The service was really good & friendly. We had the Chef’s Platter for 2 which had so much food & everything tasted delicious. The Greek Salad was the star. I wouldn’t suggest the potato dip. Only 2 things made us subtract a star. The restaurant was entirely out of beef that night so we could only have the chicken & pork skewers although they were wonderful. Secondly the door was open & a few bugs came in; a little distracting but not horrible. Overall it was a great experience & we actually returned to eat here again.
