Easily the best ramen in Montreal. It reminds me a lot of the flavorful ramen I had many times in Tokyo.
The yuzu nanban chicken is crispy & slightly spicy, but the sourness refreshes your taste.
The tonkotsu ramen, oh heaven, is so flavorful. The texture of the broth is both creamy & clear! The pork is in good portion, & amazingly doesn't have the smelly pig smell that many ramen shops in Montreal have that really turns people off. Truly well done!View more
Japanese night out with a friend to talk travel-& fuel up right!
I went for the Tonkotsu Ramen: rich homemade creamy pork bone broth with thin noodles, chashu, green onion, kikurage, egg, & nori.
She chose the Maze Men: cold brothless noodles topped with salad, tomato, crispy onions, a poached egg, & tender chicken.
Comfort food, great company, & future adventures on the menu!View more
Staff, service, & ambiance were all fantastic. The place is very cool looking & has a fun vibe. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy the food. I ordered the spicy tonkotsu ramen with chashu. I found the broth to be boring & lacking depth of flavor. It was also extremely oily & salty, I felt like I was being fed spoonfuls of bacon fat. I have had tonkotsu ramen many times, & unfortunately this one ranks close to the bottom. The pork belly was salty & the piece of meat was mostly fat. If that's your thing, this is the place to be. The spice adds a much needed balance in flavor to the broth. The portion size is adequate. Although the people are very nice & the cool vibe, I would not bother coming back to this place again.View more
My favourite ramen place in Montreal.
The ramen is delicious & ambiance is great
The best marinated egg, tasty.
I recommend the tonkotsu with porkView more
We went for Mtl a table. The entrées were very good & I was surprised how delicious the calamari were. The bathroom was dirty. Unfortunately, my husband got food poisoning from the pork ramen.View more
Out of all the ramen restaurants I have been trying out in Montreal these last few years, Tsukuyomi is the ONLY one that nailed the ramen, vibe, service, alcohol & pricing. We went for a friends birthday & the ramen was so good, even the vegetarian option looked amazing. Would recommend to anyone & would gadly go again soon (especially after trying other ramen places that were very disappointing). Update: had the chashu pork today & it was amazing!View more
Not very good. Had their original pork ramen. It was kinda sad. Broth was alright but not much in the bowl, pork seemed close to expiring, noodles clumpy. No choice of thin or thick noodles presented. Decor is nice. Wait staff seem elsewhere. The big ramen chain Kinton down the street does it better. Was hoping this would have a more artisanal vibe. But it seems just as loveless a place.View more
Funky Ramen place with young crowd. I actually had the Donbori rice bowl with pulled pork & it was very good! I'll be back to taste the Ramen next time around!View more
A japanese jewel in downtown! We tried it once & we couldn't stop ourselves from becoming a regular. It tastes fresh & flavorful, & the presentation of the dish is on point. You can take an appetizer & a small rice (with braised pork or deep-fried chicken) for lunch & it will be more than enough at a fair price. Service is also warm & kind. This is your place to go if you're craving good-quality ramen or rice for a good price.View more
2yr ago I walk passed while it's closed, so I'm excited to give it a try also as my local friend was recommended! Here is the review Tonkotsu Ramen Egg is well done! Chashu(pork) is nicely done as well Noodle is good! Broth is good & I wish there is more! Portion of this is right, lots of flavour in it! I'm a big fans of takoyaki, sadly it's probably the smallest I've seen, the flav is alright, it's bit too crispy & dry, assuming it's deep fried than the traditional way, I would not recommend this.View more
Well decorated & nice atmosphere ! The ramens were great, & they were options for vegetarians/people who don't eat pork - which isn't always the case !View more
I wish they had more options with chicken & vegetarian. The vegan ramen options were too good. I am sure the ones with pork broth would be great as well. Worth a try!View more
I found the place by chance & was drawn in immediately by the unusual angular walls that greet you in the entrance. While small, this place had the best atmosphere of any ramen shop I've been to; if you're lucky, you can get a seat at the second-floor bar overlooking the street. We were seated at a table on the second floor by the friendly staff, & we ordered a bowl of karaage fried chicken with rice, a bowl of original chashu tonkotsu ramen, & a bowl of chicken tonkotsu ramen. The food amazed each of us. The tonkotsu broth was so creamy & flavorful, & the green onions made it smell so much better. The meat for both the pork & the chicken was tender & delicious, & the noodles filled me up. We finished up the night with a celebratory round of cold sake shots. Much appreciation again to the warm & excellent staff making our evening fun & exceptionally pleasant.View more
Great ramen (especially the spicy pork), a bit pricey but worth it! The food is quick to come. Good music.View more
I had the fried gyoza, edamame & 2 ramen for me & my girlfriend. As well as a tea & cocktail. The gyoza was nothing to talk about, I don't think it's worth ordering just felt old frozen gyoza. Edamame was okay. The ramen broth was good, noodles good as well, i like mine a bit more undercooked but good nonetheless. The pork was not charred which i think they should & it did not felt very tender. It was more chewy towards the end of the bite & dry. Service was good, our waitress was a bit monotone but maybe she had a bad day, she still took our order correctly. The other girl that brought our order was very nice & smiling when she was at our table which she doesn't have to but it is still pleasant. One thing that bothered me is that both of them went multiple times at our table to see if we were alright as if we were being rushed for some reason. We stayed maybe 45min tops from the time we entered the restaurant & left. & the restaurant was not full which i don't understand why they would need our table.View more
Extremely tasty food ! Would come again ! They made a mistake by giving me pork instead of chicken in my soup. Honestly i didn't mind, but they were the first to acknowledge it, & they later gave me the chicken. They even gave me a small discount to account for the delay. Couldn't ask for more, i recommend ! Pictured are the octopus balls.View more
Overated & overpriced even though if the food is alright. The menu is pretty limited. If you don't eat pork then you should know that the only sauce you can have with chicken or tofu is vegan sauce.View more
I have to say this is one of the best ramen I've had imo, broth is rich, Pork is extremely tender & flavourful, their Kaarage is also pretty good with their spicy mayo.View more
I have dined there 3 times. I brought 6 people the first time. 2 people the second time & again yesterday. They were clients & friends. I am very disappointed & will not return. One of the diners did not like the ramen soup & requested chicken instead of pork. You charged us-even though she said she had asked for chicken in the first place. Bad mistake. You lost many customers. I wish you good luck but that is BAD business. Susana Stroll
Restaurant japonais sympathique. On a mangé: Les Gyoza Le takoyaki & un bol de donbury de pork La nourriture était correcte, les prix pas cher, mais plus d'un restaurant de ce type font mieux coté nourriture. Le service était rapide & impeccable.View more
I had gotten the Tonkotsu original pork & the broth was rich & smooth, almost creamy, it was a very good broth. The eggs were well marinated & complimented the noodles & the broth, the pork was one big slice of meat, although thicker than most ramen char shu, it was well marinated but tough to eat. The takoyaki was a little disappointing as there were not that much octopus & was mostly batter & was not that hot as the flakes were not dancing when it was brought out, overall, the ramen was amazingView more
BEST RAMEN OUTSIDE OF JAPAN! Amazing service, super knowledgeable staff, the ambiance is super fun & vibrant, the food was DELICIOUS & extremely good quality, beer on tap tasted crips & clean, price are quite reasonable too! Our group tried différent appetizers (salmon sashimi with sesame oil, pumping croquette with tonkatsu & kewpi, calamari with spicy mayo, wasabi octopus, & cooked spinach salad, all soooo delicious!) as well as differents ramen (the broth for the regular vegan miso ramen was a little bit disappointing compare to the other vegan & pork broth option around the table, but still tasty) many of us who have been to Japan before agree that this was the best Japanese Ramen restaurant in Montreal. We will be back shortly!!!
Great service. Great food. Great saké. What more could you ask for?
We ordered Tacoyaki & pork dumplings to share then ramen & saké all around. It was delicious!
Fun atmosphere. Attentive, fast & friendly wait staff. 5 stars
