It's a pretty small spot but the decoration is really cute! From everything I tried, I definitely recommend ordering the sushi pizza. It was really good. I didn't get a picture of the sushi paper wrap but honestly, it was one of the tastiest ones I had, so I'd recommend ordering that one too!
My son chose this restaurant for his 13th birthday. He told the waitress that it was his birthday & she did nothing. No birthday acknowledgment. My son was disappointed. The sushi was great though.
What a gem! Tri Express has the best atmosphere, food & service. The sushi is delicious, including the vegetarian rolls.
Best sushi in Montreal, it's the only place I eat sushi. Decently priced & consistently the same quality & flavour. I've been going to Tri express since it opened 20 years ago, unfortunately the service has been getting worse & worse with time, hence why I typically do take out only. There is one waitress who seems to hate her job & looks miserable at all times. She's unwelcoming & rude, not sure why she's still there
Fantastic sushi & the team there was awesome !
Quick service, fresh & tasty & we will be returning ! 🍣
We ordered à la carte for the 5 of us it was great!! Our kids loved it 👌
Incredible little restaurant for sushi. The staff was accommodating & timed the dishes perfectly. The food was delicious & fresh.
Stepping into Tri Express feels like slipping through a hidden portal. The place itself is truly special, beautifully decorated with antique, vintage pieces inspired by the marine world. It's unique in a way that makes you want to slow down & take it all in.
The atmosphere is warm & inviting, & the service matches it perfectly. The staff are friendly, attentive. The table setup is thoughtfully done, yet simple.
Now, the food… honestly, amazing. You can taste the freshness in every bite. The menu offers a great variety, & the combinations are both creative & well-balanced. The sushi stands out, the rice is just perfect in both thickness & quality, so you don't feel overly full, just satisfied.
My absolute favorites were the salmon tartare, the lobster tartare & the maki de saison tri, incredibly fresh & full of flavor. We also started with a sashimi nouveau style topped with apple & a special sauce, which was a really nice & refreshing touch. Even the presentation of each dish was on point.
As for the price, it's very reasonable considering the quality & quantity you get. & just to clarify, the total you see on the bill was for one person, while we were actually two dining.
Overall, Tri Express is not just a restaurant, it's an experience. Definitely a place I'd come back to.
The food & service were excellent. My favourites were the salmon tartare & the sushi pizza. A must try!
Among the best sushi in Montreal. Friendly & efficient service, chill ambiance.
I actually booked this place last minute for new year eve for myself.
This sushi place was recommended to me by a friend. The area is amazing. In a quiet residential area I didn't expect this food to be outstanding. Wow. I was quite literally blown away. The sushi is hands downs fresh. There is a big difference. I am a sushi lover & this had to be one of the best sushi places I have eaten & I moved from Toronto to Montreal. I would highly recommend eating here & I will most definitely go back. WOW I can't get over the dishes.
I actually forgot to take a picture of my last main sushi platter that's how excited I was once I received the plate cause I couldn't wait to get into it.
First time here - wonderful experience. Restaurant is very quaint. Had the omakase menu for two. Great variety of dishes & great quality. Some of the best sushi I've had. Sushi pizza is a must!
Decent sushi, but a bit pricey for the quality & portion, subpar service.
Parties who were seated after us got their orders taken & were served before us. The server kept passing us without acknowledging our presence.
Atmosphere is very nice, sushi was decent for Montreal, but the poor service ruined it for us. We had to wait over 20 minutes to be served. Meanwhile, 3 other tables who were seated after us were served multiple times for ordering both food & drinks. Also the sushi rice texture was a bit stale & hard.
