We came on Valentine's Day expecting a nice evening, but instead had one of the worst restaurant experiences ever. As soon as we sat down, the owner approached us with an aggressive attitude & to the question how long we should wait, because we have been waiting 25 minutes, he said,'If you don't like it, leave my restaurant,' before we had even ordered anything.
The service was nonexistent, & the owner was extremely rude & unprofessional. Being treated this way on a special day made it even more disappointing.
Completely unacceptable behavior. I would never return & absolutely do not recommend this place.
I have traveled a lot, & as a person who really knows a lot about restaurants & service, I would say worse restaurant owner I have ever seen! Never go there!
Great service, amazing food & the ambiance perfect. We absolutely loved it & highly recommend it. We need to hang on to these places at are family run, & have been around for so long.We eat early so I don't know what to say about making a reservation but if I were you, I'd make one to be on the safe side. I asked ChatGPT to recommend an authentic Italian restaurant near our hotel in Montreal to take a client for dinner, & Trattoria Trestevere came up as the #1 suggestion. Let me just say-it more than lived up to that recommendation!
From the moment we arrived, everything was exceptional-the warm & welcoming atmosphere, the charming location, & above all, the world-class service & food. We were fortunate to be served by the owner himself, who graciously guided us through a lineup of unforgettable appetizers: calamari, zucchini fries, beef carpaccio, prosciutto with melon, & the most incredible mozzarella in carrozza covered in the most delicious tomato sauce....I noticed on the way out a sign that says you can buy the sauces to take home....if I lived in Montreal, I would be buying their sauce by the Liter! Each dish was perfectly prepared & full of authentic Italian flavor.
For our mains, we enjoyed a variety of dishes-from veal parmigiana, seafood linguine, & filet mignon with pasta, to lasagna, rigatoni, & the highlight for me: the homemade spinach & ricotta stuffed pasta (I believe it was called malfatti). Every single person at the table said it was the best Italian food they've ever had. We ended the night with a spread of decadent desserts-tiramisu, crème brûlée, ice cream, & fried gnocchi with Nutella (which was out of this world). We sipped the best cappuccino I've ever tasted & were treated to a round of limoncello by the owner to finish the evening.
This restaurant is a gem-authentic, warm, delicious, & truly unforgettable. It was the highlight of our time in Montreal, & we are already planning to come back. Thank you, Trattoria Trestevere, for a truly special evening. Bless you! 🙏🏻

Just ate at Trattoria Trestevere, was very pleased with everything, the service is out of this world. In addition, I was very pleased with the gentlemen who helped choose my dinner for me as I was very indecisive. I've been to Italy, & it brought me back for a moment. The ravioli is a must try. I highly recommend this establishment if you are looking for a nostalgic taste like Italy!.

I wanted to share my recent dining experience at Trattoria Trestevere, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
We started with a unique zucchini & prosciutto melon dish. The zucchini was unlike anything I've had at a traditional restaurant-cut into shoestrings & perfectly spiced, it was a delightful surprise.
For the main course, the veal was cooked to perfection, & my cannelloni was simply delicious. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared & truly enjoyable. The zabaglione dessert for two & the Nutella gnocchi were amazing.
What made the experience even more special was the opportunity to converse with the owner, who shared some fascinating stories about the restaurant.
If you're looking for a wonderful dining experience, I highly recommend Trattoria Trestevere. I assure you, you will not be disappointed!

My husband & I have been coming here for years now & can't recommend it enough. I was baffled by some of the recent reviews so I had to write them a review. Beautiful cozy ambiance, amazing wine selection, quality food & most importantly exceptional service. Love Mauro the owner. He always makes us feel so welcome. All servers are also very friendly. Thanks for another amazing night. We couldn't have asked for more.
Visited this restaurant with my wife before seeing cirque du soleil at the bell center. Give a 110% on this amazing restaurant. Staff amazing, food extremely delicious, ambiance was great just like Italian movies. Do recommend this restaurant to everyone in Montreal & Quebec.

Searched the internet for a good moderately priced Italian restaurant. We weren't interested in fancy with steaks etc. came across Trattoria. I read the reviews & was impressed. This restaurant sounded exactly like what we wanted. It didn't disappoint. The lasagna was excellent along with the spaghetti & meat sauce andTiramisu. The staff was friendly & very accommodating. I highly recommend this restaurant. You don't have to spend a lot of money to get excellent food.

J'ai commandé des lasagnes qui avaient un goût de brûlée, j'ai réclamé on m'a ramené une autre assiette qui avait également un goût de brûlée Par conséquent je ne recommande pas ce restaurant
I had a lovely dinner here while visiting Montreal. Our waiter was charming & kind. I had the spaghetti with meat sauce & my partner had the lasagne. Both meals were perfectly cooked & tasted great. I had the crème brûlée for dessert & I loved it. Definitely recommend for a romantic dinner.
The original recipe lasagne from 50 years ago was outstanding. Authentic Italian. Waiters were attentive, informative, friendly, without being intrusive. Highly recommend this place.
