Although not authentic ingredients, there are still strong Vietnamese flavors. Highly recommend.

Delicious! Food came out quick & had that nice street food feel from Vietnam, flavors felt pretty authentic as well. Looking forward to coming back & trying out some dishes coming up on their menu!

1) Food:
The dishes looked great in their ads & on social media, so I was very excited (they also ran *a lot* of ads). However, most items fell short. The only standout was bánh tôm (the shrimp fritters) which I enjoyed. Bò né (the steak & egg skillet) had too much soy sauce which overwhelmed the beef & pâté. The bánh bao was more Chinese bao bun style than actual Vietnamese bánh bao, & the filling was below average - definitely my least favorite. G?i gà (the chicken salad) was also average & forgettable.

Portions were small for the price, so we didn't bother ordering more & just went to Tay Ho restaurant nearby afterward for a fuller, actually delicious, & cheaper meal.

2) Service:
Also disappointing. After our food arrived, we held off eating to wait for our friend, which was 15 minutes in total (I took photos & have timestamps). 2 minutes before our friend came, at 6 PM, our server came over & asked,'Are you guys gonna eat that? We have tables after you.' This felt unnecessary & uncomfortable, especially since we were already worried sick if our friend was safe or not because of this unusual delay.

For context, I'd called the day before & were aware they had rsvps starting from 7 PM, so this interaction at 6 felt rushed & somewhat icky. Then we checked with another server & were told we had a 1.5-hour seating window, which made the other person's question even more unreasonable. We finished everything at 6:19 PM, which was approximately an hour of the total seating.

After reading all the other comments, I have a feeling we're all referring to the same waitress. If that's right then I hope they would take some actions to manage this issue, like better training or something.

3) Seating:
The setup was awkward & impractical. I understand Tô Dinette Viet wants to recreate a Vietnamese street food aesthetic with their furniture choices, but the execution misses the mark & inauthentic. Low plastic tables are typically paired with short stools (see my 2nd photo), & taller chairs go with even higher metal tables (photo #3), not whatever they do. This mismatch made it uncomfortable to eat & could be especially difficult for older customers.

Overall: 1/5 experience.

Went based on the good reviews, but food was below average. Not a lot of flavour, didn't do justice to otherwise fantastic Vietnamese cuisine.

This restaurant went viral on social media so we decided to give it a try on my search for Vietnamese food- the snack menu was what piqued my interest as opposed to a regular pho restaurant.

A fair bit of seating inside- both normal tables & smaller tables that mimicked seating at food stalls in Vietnam.

Food wise- menu is definitely smaller but dishes were well prepared. We ordered the chicken salad, wings, shrimp fritters & a mango margarita. Everything was great, service was quick & efficient. Prices were also very fair.

They've only been open for two months but good to see a local place like this have success!

Tô Dinette Viet truly served one of the best Vietnamese meals I've had in Montréal. One of the things I liked most was how clean & clear the flavours were. There are no unnecessarily heavy sauces everything is simple but very impactful. You can really feel the quality of the ingredients. The place is small, but very warm & welcoming, with a real neighbourhood'hidden gem' vibe. The service was also quick & friendly, making you feel comfortable right away.

Prix non attractifs voir cher pour un supposé streetfood sur table en plastique...cuisine ordinaire, rien de spectaculaire comparé aux autres restaurants vietnamiens montréalais.

Amazing vietnamese restaurant, they were out of a LOT (maybe 50%) of their menu when I went so would be careful if you want one specific dish

Stumbled onto this place while walking on the street - even though it was 5:30 pm on a Saturday night & I had no reservation I was welcomed in to sit at the back bar. What a delightful surprise - great food at a great price, great atmosphere, & truly nice crew (I met a new waiter - his first day on the job - the house manager, & the chef, all of whom briefly chatted with me.)
On waiter Brandon's recommendation, I ordered the Cahn Ga (chicken wings) appetizer & was instantly hooked - among the best I've ever had! Generously sized, three big wings with perfectly cooked, tender meat in a delicious crisp coating, subtly spiced with a bit of sauce & herbs. It was so good I ended up ordering a to-go order to bring home to my wife! At $8 per order this was an absolute deal.
Also at his suggestion I had the main course soup, Bun Rieu - a generously portioned & lovely bowl (see photo) that featured a tangy (but not spicy) red broth with herbs & vegetable garnish, lots of vermicelli-like soft rice noodles, satisfying slices of baked tofu, & featuring unusual (& tasty)'meatballs' of mixed ground pork & crab paste, which filled me up quite happily.

In talking to chef Galaxy (as he introduced himself) I learned that his goal was to bring reasonably priced Vietnamese'street food' to the public, being mindful of how difficult it is to present affordable & tasty food to the neighborhood in these times. I'd say he succeeded admirably!

The decor was vibrant & fun - colorful paper lanterns, a lovely & inviting entrance full of Vietnamese signs & memorabilia, & a cheery if deliberately low-key vibe. & pleasant, not-too-loud background music, a big plus.

As one of the customers leaving as I went it said, this place has great, authentic food. I'll be back. I'm no expert on Vietnamese street food, but I know what well-executed & delicious, good quality food at a good price can be. This place hits the mark.

Delicious food & cool street food vibe in the middle of Plaza St Hubert. Menu may be limited but any choice is delicious & abundant.
We ordered 2 appetizers : Bánh tôm (4 pcs of double shrimp on sweet potato matchsticks) & Canh Gà 👍👍👍 (suoer savory chicken wings). We were already stuffed !
For our main courses, we had : Th?t Rim M?m S? (braised pork, fried egg, & rice) &
Bò Né (sizzling lemongrass beef & homemade beef/pork paté, fried egg, & rice. To tip the scale, we finished with their
Cà phê s?a ?á (Vietnamese iced coffee).
A fantastic foodie adventure & definitely worth a visit ! Gotta return for their Banh Cuon & Bún Riêu soup !

I truly love the food here, from the beautiful presentation to the deeply authentic flavors in every dish. This was actually the first restaurant I visited after landing from my trip to Mexico, & it was the perfect meal to come back to. After traveling, it felt so comforting to enjoy such fresh & flavorful Vietnamese food.

All the dishes here are simply outstanding. Each bowl & plate tastes carefully prepared, balanced, & comforting-just like the food from Vietnam.

What makes this place even more special is that the chef Galaxy is Vietnamese & cooks with a genuine passion for authentic cuisine. You can truly feel that dedication in the flavors, the ingredients, & the attention to detail in every dish. It's rare to find a restaurant that stays so true to traditional Vietnamese cooking while also presenting the food so beautifully.
You have the amazing kind waiter Aaron Who know well the menu & give great recommendation.

For me, discovering a place that captures the real taste of Vietnamese brings so much joy. Every visit feels warm & familiar, almost like sitting down for a homemade meal. The gentle & peaceful décor, inspired by a simple hometown atmosphere, makes the experience even more comforting & relaxing.

I highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates authentic flavors & heartfelt cooking.

Went to Tô Dînette Viet with Vietnamese friends. So the standards were high. We ordered Bún Riêu, Cánh Gà, G?i Gà, Bò Né & Bánh Cu?n.

The Bánh Cu?n.
Problematic.

We were negotiating the last pieces like family inheritance. Voices were raised. Alliances were formed. I lost.

I asked if they could make a big batch for a future family takeover. They said no because everything is made fresh & it takes time.

Respect.

You can taste it. Soft, delicate, perfectly balanced. The kind of dish that makes you quiet for a second. Which is rare in a Vietnamese group.

The Bò Né with egg & pâté was also serious business. That plate came out hot & left empty.

If you want something quick & industrial, this is not it. If you want fresh, handmade, actually done with care, this is it.

Would go back. Would fight again.
