Great ambiance, beautiful decor, & excellent service, but the food didn't quite live up to the social media hype. As someone who is Vietnamese, I had high expectations that weren't met.
?The chicken wings are a good value at $8 for 3 large pieces, but they lacked crispiness & the nuoc mam flavor was barely noticeable. The chicken salad was decent, & while the bread was good, the Bò Né, the dish I was most excited for, was disappointing in both portion size & taste. Come for the vibes & service, but the execution of the food leaves room for improvement.
The food was really tasty, I'm not vegetarian but I loved their tofu with eggplants. Their drinks are also tasty, I had the spicy mango cocktail & it was flavorful & well balanced in spice. It is fair priced, we had an entrée, main course & drinks. Lovely staff, super kind!
Delicious! Food came out quick & had that nice street food feel from Vietnam, flavors felt pretty authentic as well. Looking forward to coming back & trying out some dishes coming up on their menu!
We ordered & then were ignored for over an hour - no drinks, food or check in. When I asked if prep had started as otherwise we would just leave (it was closing time) we got our juice & were reassured food was being plated. The food came another ten minutes later & the beef soup was very oily & not flavorful. The beef sandwich with egg was okay (didn't come with any toppings & you assemble yourself). They offered free imperial rolls which were good. The small plastic stools were hard to sit at for that kind of wait. This is a trendy looking spot but they probably forgot to put in the order & don't seem to actually care about your experience.
Disappointing experience today at lunch time. Resto was half full at 12:30, we were seated immediately on one of the low plastic tables & stools. The ambiance is instagrammable, true to the theme with lots of cute decor. Unfortunately the service left much to be desired. Seemed like one person was serving the whole restaurant but the delay appeared to come from the kitchen. Items were missing from my order. Food took an hour to arrive. The flavors were there & the price was fair but honestly not worth the detour. At the end of the day there are better (albeit few) options for authentic street food in Montreal. I was influenced by many IG posts showcasing this resto… learned my lesson
I truly love the food here, from the beautiful presentation to the deeply authentic flavors in every dish. This was actually the first restaurant I visited after landing from my trip to Mexico, & it was the perfect meal to come back to. After traveling, it felt so comforting to enjoy such fresh & flavorful Vietnamese food.
All the dishes here are simply outstanding. Each bowl & plate tastes carefully prepared, balanced, & comforting-just like the food from Vietnam.
What makes this place even more special is that the chef Galaxy is Vietnamese & cooks with a genuine passion for authentic cuisine. You can truly feel that dedication in the flavors, the ingredients, & the attention to detail in every dish. It's rare to find a restaurant that stays so true to traditional Vietnamese cooking while also presenting the food so beautifully.
You have the amazing kind waiter Aaron Who know well the menu & give great recommendation.
For me, discovering a place that captures the real taste of Vietnamese brings so much joy. Every visit feels warm & familiar, almost like sitting down for a homemade meal. The gentle & peaceful décor, inspired by a simple hometown atmosphere, makes the experience even more comforting & relaxing.
I highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates authentic flavors & heartfelt cooking.
This restaurant offers truly authentic & delicious Vietnamese cuisine. Every dish is full of flavor. We had the chance to speak with the chef, & his passion for food was immediately clear. He has deep respect for the ingredients & traditions, & that dedication shines through in every plate
