My wife & I visited the restaurant to celebrate a special occasion, & overall it was a pleasant experience. The outdoor seating was lovely, creating a great ambiance for our evening. We started with appetizers & soups, which were fantastic & set high expectations for the rest of the meal. However, the main course, a steak, took over an hour to arrive after our starters. The long wait for the main dish was quite disappointing & disrupted the flow of our meal. We noticed other tables around us were experiencing similar delays, indicating an issue with the timing & management of serving dishes. While the food was good, the extended wait time for the main course is something the restaurant should work on improving.View more

Must say I had high hopes for this steak chain as the decor & service is what I would expect from a higher end steakhouse. Maybe my tastebuds were a little off that night, but the crab cake were possibly the worst I have ever had. Having texture in food is always a good thing but the overly present celery, onions & I think carrots were off putting along with the omnipresent taste of panko was very disappointing. The NY steak was quite thin, leaving a move dry steak than would have been preferred for a medium temperature. Again, service & decor were exceptional but food was disappointing.View more

Highly recommend the steaks, Gruyère Mushroom Dip, Iceberg Wedge & the Twice Baked Potato. Our waiter was attentive throughout the meal. They also have outside seating. For appetizer, we got the Gruyère Mushroom Dip which was very good. The pull apart bread was soft & well with the dip. We each got a variety of the steaks. First time trying a Baseball Top Sirloin. All the steaks were cooked to order. If you get the Keg Classic, it comes with a salad & side. The Iceberg Wedge salad was very good, especially if you like blue cheese. For the side, definitely try the Twice Baked Potato. They had a summer menu so tried the lobster roll which was very disappointing - do not get that, stick to the steaks! We also had the Mac n Cheese & Broccolini to share. Max n Cheese was average. Broccolini was too lemony so we didn't enjoy that & the portion was very small.View more

My wife & I went for dinner yesterday. We both ordered the lobster & steak summer special. There was a small mixup with my order when they brought out our meals. The server was extremely apologetic & right away placed a rush on my order. She also brought me a complimentary shrimp cocktail while I waited & it was quite delicious. It was only a few minutes before they brought me out my order. Food was very good. The server then offered 2 complimentary desserts. We were so full so we told her we couldn't eat another bite. The server then proceeded to pack us up our two cheesecakes for us to take away. I thought that was above & beyond. I understand mistakes happen once & a while & we felt very well taken care of by the staff when they realized this happened. 5 stars! This is why we like The Keg. This Keg is located in Place Ville Marie. It's convenient on a rainy day as you can park underground & walk up into the restaurant. Keep your bill as you can validate your parking on your way to your parking spot to save money & only pay 8 dollars. They have good drinks that you can make a Keg size by adding an additional shot into it. The food was mediocre. It wasn't as good as the one in the West Island or Laval. The steak wasn't rare like I ordered. It was more of a medium. The mushrooms lacked flavor, but the calamari, bread, & salad were good. If you like ice cream, you have to try the Billy Minner pie! Amazing place, great service. Food was delicious. Bacon wrapped scallops, salmon, & steak, all were on point. They were very accommodating with out-of-menu cocktails & they still tasted amazing. I've been here several times, & the last time was one of my poorer experiences. The waiter was friendly but took the liberty of making decisions for the table without consulting us. Instead of regular butter, he brought cheese butter. I asked for my baked potatoes for butter, bacon, & chives. He replied the works?! I said no & repeated butter, bacon, & chives because I do not like sour cream. I tried the steak & lobster for the first time but found that the lobster tail was small. I understand why the keg offers two tails with the lobster meal. We also had the rib steak, which was cooked to perfection. No complaints. The service can be a real hit or miss. Sometimes it's fantastic & other times it's okay. But it has never been like my recent experienceView more

Leider kein ungetrübten Vergnügen im The KEG Restaurant. Mit Reservierung, die an einem Wochenende unbedingt notwendig ist, aßen wir an einem Sonntag Abend im KEG. Leider war nicht alles so gut wie es der Anspruch eines sehr gut laufenden Hauses sein sollte. Eine Vorspeise mit knusprigen Blumenkohl war nicht knusprig, vielmehr schwamm das Gemüse in Öl. Ein Jumbo-Shrimpsalat war exzellent, viel schlimmer war, dass ein 8oz Filet Mignon statt Medium rare als Medium well an den Tisch kam. Eine sofortige Reklamation wurde unmittelbar umgesetzt. Ein neues Steak war richtig gegart, jedoch überraschend fest im Biss, genauso wie ein New York Strip. Fairerweise wurde die schlechte Vorspeise von der Rechnung gestrichen, analog der beiden Cocktails. Ich würde hier nicht mehr einkehren, denn neben den Schnitzern war es sehr voll und zu laut.View more

It's a great place for steak except for one thing. Terrible rock music on the in-house music. Nothing is more jarring during a candlelight dinner than bad music at 10db above the threshold of pain. The owners should not let the staff choose the music.View more

My wife & I decided to try this restaurant for our anniversary dinner. I am skeptical of steak houses, because they are seldom as good as I can make at home. Boy, was I wrong! our steaks were amazing, & the sides were as well. Our server was attentive & friendly, & the outdoor seating was wonderful. My only complaint would be the chairs were much too short. I looked like a child with my chin barely clearing the table top. I used cushions from the neighboring chair to raise myself up to a reasonable height. The bench on the opposite side of the table was the proper height so I sat next to my wife until our food arrived. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the Montreal area.View more

Really impressed with my experience at The Keg, as well as publishing all allergen information on their website, when I ordered I was asked whether gluten feee was a preference or an allergy. I told them I was coeliac, they took my order, & a few minutes later the chef came out & confirmed how they'd ensure my meal would be GF. I started with a green salad, & then when it came to my (perfectly cooked) steak the chef personally brought it out for me. 5* service, great steak dinner at a great price.View more
