Sushi Hidden Fish earns widespread praise for exceptionally fresh fish, precise knife work, and beautifully presented dishes that showcase real craftsmanship. The dining room is described as elegant and intimate, with a calm atmosphere that enhances the tasting experience. Service is repeatedly highlighted as knowledgeable, attentive, and friendly, guiding guests through a thoughtful menu. Standout dishes across reviews include refined nigiri and maki, wagyu and aged fish options, and inventive rolls that balance flavors with skill. While premium pricing is noted, the overall consensus is that the combination of quality, technique, and hospitality makes the visit memorable and worth the splurge.
My coworkers & I had a fantastic dinner at Hidden Fish in Montreal. The food was incredibly tasty & fresh-every dish we tried was excellent. Rudy, our server, was outstanding. He was friendly, attentive, & his recommendations were spot on. Thanks to him, we ended up trying some of the best items on the menu. We especially loved all the bluefin dishes! Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience & I would definitely recommend Hidden Fish to anyone visiting Montreal!
An absolute must try for anyone looking to experience incredible fine dining sushi from start to finish!
We've come multiple times already & can NOT recommend this establishment enough to all of our friends & family! Food is indescribable & melt in your mouth. Rey served us & suggested dishes that were out of this world: the salmon noodles, crab salad, premium selection of sashimi & our absolute fave, Nobunaga.
All the best to the team of Hidden Fish for their amazing service! Can't wait to keep coming back again & again!

We went there for a date night & left extremely satisfied with our experience! We sat at the sushi bar so we had the chance to see how dedicated the chefs were. Every dishes were meticulously put together & so delicious ♡
We had a very pleasant time with our waiter, Ray. He was patient & a good listener. He helped us choose our dishes & recommended the best ones ! Very welcoming & fun!
We had an excellent experience at Sushi Hidden Fish, & a big part of that was thanks to Rey.
From the moment we arrived, Rey made us feel genuinely welcome. His hospitality was top-tier-attentive without being overbearing-& his knowledge of the menu really stood out. He took the time to understand our preferences & guided us toward some of the best sushi recommendations, all of which were exceptional.
It's clear that Rey truly cares about the guest experience. Professional, friendly, & thoughtful throughout the entire visit.
Highly recommend Sushi Hidden Fish, & if you're there, you'll be in great hands with Rey.
A real hidden gem! Our new sushi place for sure! Loved the amazing decor & atmosphere! The service was phenomenal. Friendly & attentive! The staff work really well together. They hardly miss a beat. & we took a spicy margarita which we highly recommend. We judge restaurants by the quality of their cocktails & they unknowingly met the challenge. Also, the sushi was delicious. The Crab maki roll was my personal favourite out of 4 maki rolls. Looking forward to trying some different ones next time. Ryan was our fantastic server. Dessert was very good too. Thank you 😊
I had heard about this place from a friend & it was fully booked unfortunately. I did manage to come on a Sunday for dinner. It was still fairly busy, only 2 tables available.
I have to say I don't have any idea how they have such a high review. This is likely the most overhyped & overpriced sushi I've had.
The opposite of what I would call a luxury dining experience.
The first thing I'll say is the decor actually is quite nice. & the hostess was super friendly & kind & seated us quick. There was a more spacious table available & without us asking she came & asked if we wanted to change to a bigger table. We did. That's more or less where the better part of the experience ended.
Despite it being Sunday & not super busy when we went as nobody was seated after us, we didn't see the waiter for about 20 minutes. The manager who was standing about 3 meters away & watching didn't notice we hadn't been served water or asked for our drink order.
Eventually I did flag down a waiter & asked him if I could order. He said he would take out drink order but the food had to be with our server. I ordered a bottle of sake & asked him to flag our waiter for us. After 10 more minutes no one came & no drink so I flagged down another waiter to get ours. We again ordered a bottle of sake as the first hadn't been put in & some appetizers & sushi & rolls.
When I asked him to repeat our food order he had missed a roll. So I told him again. 15 mins later some food came out but still no drinks. So I flagged him down again & he asked me to repeat which drinks we wanted then said there was an error in the system & they would bring it out ASAP. As we had ordered a fair bit of food they put our sake bottle on ice away from the table, which at first seemed like a good idea, however our waiter never came back to refill our sake. From our MIA bottle. So we eventually finished the food & then I literally got up & moved our own sake bottle to the table. Waiter was quite surprised at the end when I asked for the bill & the bottle was empty as he even said he didn't remember pouring us the sake; which he didn't.
As for the food, the sashimi was okay, but overpriced & nothing to write home about. The rolls were a bit too salty for the most part, even without any soya sauce.
The exceptions: unagi house specialty roll was great & probably our favorite. The roll topped with crab was also quite good. But everything else was pretty below par.
Scallop roll with truffle was so mild in flavour I didn't even know there was truffle on it. The hamachi signature roll was a bit salty which kind of mafe it a bit overpowering.
At the end again was a struggle to get service for dessert so we just got our bill.
Definitely can't recommend this place & wouldn't go back. Again no clue how it seems to be highly rated or reviewed.
I have sushi weekly & there's way better sushi & value & just couldn't recommend hidden fish despite the hype.
Merci !
Upscale with a plethora of affordable options. Served by Matt who recommended the bluefin tuna nigiri with caviar on it- & it was a wonderful suggestion! Great food, great time.
I try sushi in every city I visit around the world & this is almost, if not at the very top of my list. The hand crafted chefs picks were exceptional. Recommend to everyone
Absolutely top-tier sushi. Every roll, nigiri, & sashimi was the most elegantly & tastily prepared-so flavorful that no soy sauce was needed. Our waiter was excellent, & multiple staff members helped us throughout the meal. Everyone was incredibly attentive without being intrusive. A standout dining experience from start to finish. Highly recommend.
The best sashimi in Montreal. Went there three times & everything is always so fresh & tastes so good. They also have very nice drinks. It's the place I always recommend to raw fish lovers. We really appreciate the nice & cozy atmosphere too.
Treated my boyfriend for his birthday, & it exceeded all expectations! Every bite was sooo good. We decided to try to some special tender pieces we hadn't had before, notably o-toro & chutoro, which melted in our mouth & left us speechless with how good they were! Our server was attentionate & knowledgeable, at first we ordered the 30piece sashimi mix but he recommended 12 would be a more appropriate quantity. I appreciate the honesty, & he was right. Another high note is the rolls, chu maki. They're my favourite item because they're complex, but every flavor & texture is justified to form the final fireworks. At the end of the meal, they treated us to a dessert for his birthday. Overall, Hidden Fish is a really great spot. It was expensive, but I was extremely happy with our experience.
